Ben Hunt will continue his career at the Brisbane Broncos in 2027 after signing a one-year contract extension to stay at the Club through to the end of next season.

I would love him to prove me wrong but I feel this year was a year too long, 27 I just don't think its good business. If they are looking at him being the 7 next year then let him be the 7 now, just think again we are really neglecting the areas we are in desperate need of depth just for 1 more year of a guy thats struggling..

I don’t often agree with Parker, but he’s right about Bunt. He should have retired last year and he’s already stayed one year too long. It’s probably wishful thinking, but I’m hopeful he’ll step up when Reynolds is gone next season.

But there were 3 other names in that article ... An article mind you that actually had zero quotes from anyone either linked to the club or Gagai

If one of those blokes replaces Reyno as Captain, yes. And it would be a remarkable snubbing of Carrigan as well, who I am beginning to wonder if he is just not leadership material.

I think he was always going to be on a team friendly deal. I think the issue for some of us is the lack of genuine needle moving signings for us next year.

I think my bigger concern is more that he's not looking very good on the field as a lock/hooker... so he's potentially halfback or bust... and I don't think you can keep a 350 gamer out of the 17 every week... Bhunt also doesn't mind providing a sound bite for the press either.

Just feel like there's a risk of him being poor on the field, but selected every week because of seniority... or a distraction if he's not playing
