Benton & DeVere back to Brisbane

I was reading that the coaching staff at the Broncos next year could number as high as 20... that seems a bit high to me eusa_think

That all depends, do you count physio staff, dietitions ( SP? ), team Doctor ect as part of the coaching staff? If so 20 isn't that much really. The three positions I listed could easily add 5 or 6 staff to the coaching atleast.

Many of them could be consultants rather than full time staff.

Head Coach- Henjak
Assistant coach- Langer, Webcke, Green, Ryan (all fulltime)
Performance Director- Dean Benton with Andrew Croll
Strength coach- Dan Baker
Sports scientist Tim Gabbett

All assistants have specialised areas.

Alf- Havles
Green- Skills
Ryan- Defence
Webcke- Forwards
Devere- Backs and goal kicking

Is it just me or has there not been an announcement about Devere yet eusa_think eusa_think , sure it will probably happen but can't remember reading it as a done deal anywhere eusa_think

Also would be interesting to know who is employing all these coaches and other staff, is it Henjak (ala WB) or is it actually the Broncos which is what it seems to be.

I hear that the Broncos have the largest coaching staff in the NRL. In saying that this doesn't bother me. Strange that Green has the skills coaching job over Langer, I think thats the wrong way around, but there ya go.

Apart from their individual skills I think here are a few extra things these guys bring to the club.

Webcke - Toughness. How to make your last hit up as good as your first. Also train as hard as you play. Funny enough the better you prepare, the luckier you get.
Langer - Have fun. I think for professional footballers its something they forget. Also the cheekiness of a true halfback. How to get under the skin of an opponent. Believe it or not, at this level that can be the difference.
DeVere – Dedication and professionalism. Mick never had the skills of the other backs but he showed what hard work and dedication and perseverance can achieve. I think players like Boyd, Michaels and maybe Robinson could plenty from.
