Well both our bets won, even if our team didn't.
Tomorrow morning the game that catches my eye is Porto v Lille. This is the 2nd leg of CL Qualifying and Porto had a narrow win away. This makes for one of my favourite bets in soccer! Lille must attack as they have to win. If they don't they fail to qualify. This means that if the game is level, they must press further and further forward to get the win they need. The play that I love in this situation is Draw/Porto in the HT/FT market. I think Porto will be relatively happy to keep things tight and not attack too much, and if it is level I think Lille's need to attack will open up gaps at the back that will allow Porto to win late.

I won't jinx it, so I'm not gonna give a prognose, but your scenario does make a bit of sense.
Suffice to say that Lille's strength and ladder finish was based on their solidity in defense...

Yep, Lille's solid defence is another key reason. That and the fact they only trail by a goal means they don't need to go out all guns blazing, but if at 0-0 with 20 to go they certainly will need to let loose.
It's the scenario that I love and I often play it. Worth noting the same scenario exists in the earlier clash between Zenit St Petersburg and Standard Liege. However Standard's defence barely lives up to the name so I think it's a bit more likely in the Porto game. Now watch the reverse happen!

I didn't comment more because I am quite superstitious about this stuff, but I did expect the game to go as it went... Porto dominating the entire contest and Lille only holding out because of their solid defense.
I actually thought Porto would have taken the lead before half time, and finished the game well before the last 20 minutes (which they essentially did), but they did the job early in the second half.
What I meant by Lille's solid defense was that it wasn't their attack which earned them their ladder finish in France, and I didn't expect them to be too bothersome to Porto, but I wasn't about to say that before the game and jinx it! LOL

Thing I hate about Day is he's a terrible winner. Rory has won more PGA titles in the last six weeks than Day has in his entire career. Still only has one stroke play win on Tour. Will likely challenge and probably even place but his conversion rate is horrible.

Valid point. I'd likely only have the balls to back him for a place anyway tbh. Rory could of course bounce back after The Barclays or Scott could decide to not crumble under pressure when he's leading. Hell, even Stenson might make a fist of it who knows. I did notice Ogilvy is very long odds at $240 so I'll be having a piece of that I think.

Leicster to win or draw $2.10 vs Arsenal - Really Like this bet this weekend. Leicster did well against chelsea at Stamford bridge last week and arsenal have been very shaky in both games this week. Back to King Power Stadium where they drew with everton in the opening round. Chuck man city in at $1.27 for a little extra cream.

Similar sort of play to the Porto one the other day except this one is on Romanian side Astra. They beat Lyon 2-1 away so now have a home game against the French side who need to attack. Unlike Porto they aren't the favourites which means we get better odds. Most of Lyon's key players are out so the danger here is more likely Astra scoring too early than Lyon. Don't know a thing about Astra btw, but the situation is solid. Draw/Astra @ 7.50
