Update on Cooks: His team is playing crap and whilst he's going okay he's well out of it right now. Could conceivable turn it around but I think his chances are gone sadly.

Onto the golf this week, don't mind the look of Brett Rumford at 3 figures. Local boy and is going off at 4x the price he did last year.

@MaroubraBroncos - Thoughts on the Cox this week? Hard to go past Fawkner but I saw that last run by Sacred Falls and wow. Came from dead last due to a bad start and ended up 4th in a strong field.

Would have to be one of the hardest cox plates in terms of betting that i have seen. I'll probably chase a bit of value and back

Sacred Falls, Fawkner, Sweynesse, Almalad and the Cleaner. I'd completely forgotten about him so cheers.

As MB said, such a tough one betting wise as all have a claim of soughts. Bit of extra splash from last week so again will have a crack on a tri.

dont think the cleaner can get there jumping from the car park and trying to get across to lead, will be hard to lead all the way in this one. Leaving out sacred falls and criterion purely for more value so fingers crossed.

Also on Lankan Rupee tonight in the Manikato and tomorrow will have a go on Tukiyo in BR3

What does having a horse as Rover mean?

Having a rover (or roving banker) trifecta means that the horse you pick as a rover has to come in 1st, 2nd or 3rd for you to be alive. As last week had Lucia Valentina as the rover and it came in third (just) so got up with the other horses picked to fill the other two spots.

different to a standout or banker trifecta in that the horse you pick as a banker or standout has to win.

Banker having the meaning of "it's in the bank" so you think it will definitely win (for a standout) or will definitely be in the placings (for a rover tri).

same applies to first fours.

today, also thinking of throwing in Criterion now for the tri though will be a last minute decision. Tough race with some great value about.

2/3 in the trifecta for the Cox

To the racing folk here, are there any horses who need to win the Lexus to get into the Melbourne Cup that offer good value for next Tuesday? I remember Maluckyday winning and going to Flemington with a light weight. Caravan Rolls On maybe?

Yeah, fully expect all of them to need to win, though I believe The Offer got scratched. Basically just seeing if there was a Maluckyday like horse that could win the lexus and be around $10 to win the Cup by the time they load the barriers. I really know **** all about racing though.

On things where I know slightly more than **** all but probably not too much based on form, have taken Lee Westwood and Patrick Reed for the CIMB. Hadn't used a site in a while and they offered me a 200% reload bonus so duly took that up. Was tossing up whether to whack the bonus on Reed or Lee but ultimately went Lee as he won on this course earlier this year and has a pretty good record in Asia. Stuck the deposit on Patrick.
