Lucas Glover. Had my eye on him for quite a while now and with this being such a tough test I feel it's well suited for him.

Haha, was looking at the odds and had a feeling it was him. There's a couple of names I like at decent odds tbh. Be back tomorrow.

Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES

Tom Waterhouse was one of the first bookies I got restricted on. Then I signed up to CentreBet and SportingBet (now WH), and I was restricted within a few days on both. They are all owned by William Hill, so would be easy to work out when the same user signs up to multiple sites. I was lucky I used my bonuses on each site before I got restricted though. Having to bet with bonuses while restricted is terrible. Even know I sometimes get deposit bonus offers from 1 of the 3 of them and I just don't bother anymore. Having to counter/hedge bet so many small bets ends up not being profitable time wise, and even just punting the bonuses without countering I couldn't be bothered with at such low limits (some of my bet limits are as low as 6c haha).

So after Waterhouse gave me the shits, I decided I'd go on a vendetta against bookies. Signed up to as many as I could to get deposit bonuses. Ended up with about $6K out of that in 3 months with very little effort. Then I started arbitrage betting, which has slowly got me restricted on just about every bookie that I can find that I can bet on in aud, but it's been a profitable experience. Up to around $30K profit from arbing over the past 6 months too.

So it's definitely possible to make some quick easy cash out of them if you can be bothered.
I was arbitrage betting a couple of months ago to clear my unibet and betfair bonuses. College basketball and state elections were the best for that I found, but the discrepancies for the former aren't as much now that March madness is in effect. Beyond clearing deposit bonuses, I don't think I'd be comfortable arbitrage betting on the scale required to make that kind of coin though because I'd be worried about a lapse in concentration when placing a bet costing me thousands.

I was a lucky with my bonus bets with William Hill and Tom Waterhouse in that most of them lost (all were hedged), so I won't have to spend as much time satisfying the bonus bet turnover requirements.

What do you do for presidential betting? Did you use Nate Silver predictions?

I find US presidential betting fascinating! There's got to be value in the republican candidate somewhere as surely they won't choose Bush!

I haven't been betting huge amounts per arb though. Usually around the $500 mark (although I guess "huge" is subjective). The profit just comes back to the % of the arb really. I don't even bother on anything less than 1%. Some can be quite high. I got on an NBA arb a few weeks back that was 13%. That's a $65 profit on a $500 risk free* bet. Profits can add up pretty quick if some good % arbs are found.

The other thing I have made a fair bit of money on is sides and middles. These come about with line bets where different bookies have a different idea of what the line will be. In some cases there can exist a scenario where you can win both bets (middle) or win one and have one refunded (side) for a very small outlay. As an example, on last weeks titans-knights game, one bookie I'm with was offering $1.90 for the knights to win with a -1.5 handicap. Another bookie was offering the titans to win with a +2 handicap at $2.10. That means you can get on both sides of the bet with a .25% loss. Could put $100 on the $1.90 bet, $90.47 on the $2.10 bet and at worst you'll return $190 either way, so a loss of 47c based on the $190.47 outlay. However, if the knights win by exactly 2 points, you still return $190, but the $2.10 bet gets refunded, so have only outlayed $100, so a $90 profit. So essentially you are risking 47c to make a profit of $90. That's odds of 190-1. Compare that to the odds of putting a bet on the knights to win by exactly 2 points.

* There are risks. I've lost a few bets due to my own mistakes, having bets cancelled etc. Just gotta be careful and pay attention, especially around the rules of different sports on different bookies (eg, what happens in the case of a draw, retirement of a player etc)

Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES

Couple of multis for this weekend:

souths 13+
dogs 13+
manly 1-12
titans 1-12
broncos 1-12
220:1

fixed at rosehill tomorrow
rudy
catkins
rain affair
first seal
dear demi
1730:1

couple of long shot multis but stranger things have happened, fingers crossed hey.

dont mind hf/ft double for warriors/broncos either. If we can hang with them till half time, (I think they'll just be in front) then come home strong early second half. Warriors tend to drop off in second half and the broncs, well not the best finishers but I think we can do it as they are getting better at closing out games. Just need that good start to second half.

Good luck.

Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES

Good luck mate. I'll throw up a few racing tips tomorrow when I have a look at the form. Catkins and First Seal always worth a shout.

Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES

@Art Vandelay tell me which exotics to bet on, dammit!

Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES

Coalition to get up in the seat of Newcastle tomorrow looks good value.

Probably unlikely, but the odds should be much shorter IMO.

At the by-election in October (after all the Liberals were found to be corrupt), the ALP canidate Tim Crakanthorp got 36.92% of the vote to Karen Howard's 26.13% (she ran as an Independent).

Howard is running for the Liberals this time around, which could hinder her due to the whole ICAC scandal ruining the Libs reputation, but I think it'll help her. Just a vibe I'm getting from being a local and seeing how people are reacting to the major issues in the area.

I'm going to throw a couple of bucks on.

For the record, I'm not in the seat of Newcastle, so I have no influence on the result haha. I won't be voting Liberal though. :)

Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES

It's probably evil of me, but when I found out some bloke put 8k on souths to win tonight I laughed my ass off.

Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES

Like the Sharks 1-12 @ $3.10 in the next game. Should have enough in the forwards to win but they rarely ever win by 13+.

Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES
