Because he isn't a prop.

I wouldn't be surprised if he plays prop off the bench this year.

Went with Tronc and Hannant. Although Tronc will have to start the season well to stay starter ahead of Anderson.

I'm the lone ranger who chose McGuire to start. My theory is that he doesn't provide a lot of impact coming on later, adds a little mobility to complement Hannant and seems the type to get fired up at the start of a contest. I would rather have him run out with the team and use that aggression in the early exchanges than have him calm down and then go on.

Also I think the tighter contest early in the game suits him at this stage of his career.

Kenny can provide good impact. He has been really disappointing in my view, certainly last year and perhaps the part of the year that he played. Getting confused with the time periods in my head here. But I think it must have been the end of 2008 that he finished really strongly and looked like a pack leader of the future.

Kenny and Tronc on the bench for me, but happy for Anderson to challenge for both Tronc and Maguires spot.

I really like that formation above with Thaiday at prop and all the gun backrowers on at one time. But its wasted at the start of the game in my view. That combo could be deadly for the final 30 mins. Let the donkey's do the donkey work early.

Hannant and Tronc for me with Anderson and Kenny on the bench. Kenny has to show some good form early in the season or else one of the other options should be given a go.
