Peter Wallace has won the battle of the halfbacks and the backline is complete. Now it is time to vote on what could be described as the key to our success this season - the big men, the pigs, the prop forwards.

The return of Ben Hannant to Brisbane sees the competition for these two spots to be a fierce contest.

1. Josh Hoffman
2. Jharal Yow Yeh
3. Justin Hodges
4. Gerard Beale
5. Denan Kemp
6. Darren Lockyer (c)
7. Peter Wallace

Troncy and Hannant for me.

Perfect combination.

Yep Tronc and Hannant for me too.

Both players can play through the middle, an area Kenny tends to struggle, he seems better more towards the middle edge and can often get himself in trouble trying to take the ball that area as the defence tend to pick him off with ease.

The bench formation will be more interesting. I mean Anderson, Kenny, Hala, McGuire, Dodds even Lui, who should the Broncos choose?

Tronc and Hannant have to be

Off the bench should be Anderson and Kenny, Dodds or McGuire.

another obviously on the hannant wagon but i would have a more mobile prop with him in anderson and have tronc and hannant switching at first change. then anderson playing a bit longer with tronc and switching out later on.

Tronc and Hannant.

Hannant was a no-brainer. I went with Tronc over Anderson, Kenny and McGuire since those three would be better at making an impact off the bench than Tronc.

Dodds? He's a tackle bag, not a prop.

Hannant and Thaiday, I got no problem with Hannant and Tronc in theory but unless Te'o plays off the bench for impact(which IMO his more suited in that role then Gillett) then your effectively minimising the amount of time Gillett, one of the few ballplaying backrowers we have at the club spends in a match who personally showed last season his ready for the task of being an 80 minute backrower. But at the end of the day it wouldn't bother me if it was Hannant and Tronc, that can work too.

^ this - sums up my thoughts as well

Hannant and Anderson for mine. Tronc would be on the bench for me. Hannant and Anderson have a better mix of aggression and agility so they're better to help set the momentum early in the game. Tronc is a bit too slow, lumbering and easy to dominate when his opposition is fresh.

If he comes on fresh with a tiring opposition pack, he's less likely to be dominated and will use his size better.

IMO of course.

I wouldn't mind trialling a Thaiday / Hannant pair to start, allowing Parker, Gillett and Te'o to start as the backrowers, with Tronc, Anderson and McGuire/Kenny/Dodds rotating from the bench alongside a utility player.
But like most, I'm happy to see a Tronc / Hannant startup pair also... icon_thumbs_u

my biggest worry with hannant tronc combo is poor mccullough is going to be run ragged with 2 slow ish lumbering forwards beside him and forcing him to constantly make covering tackles as oppositions run through the middle. one man mountain on the field at a time please. dont want to see us carved up

Hannant is not a slow, lumbering forward. Hannant is quite surprisngly quick on his feet and has very good play the balls. Tronc on the other hand....

yeah i added the ish when i was typing :p..

i understand hannant is a quality prop but when he gets tired he goes the same as the sluggish lumbering man mountains. Tronc being probably the top 5 slugs in the game and would prefer his time on the field with a kenny, dodds, anderson from a defensive point of view.

nothing hurt me more than last season when in patches of the season it looked like every set of defensive six was costing us points.
