Bowen gone for the season

and i put money on them to win this year.

Next year they will be a top 4 team with Tonga coming

Meh, they need forwards more than him. They need a good hard prop to bash it up the middle. And learn how to tackle. Tonga will be out injured most of the season given his recent form.

They've got some good backrowers in Faumina, O'Donnell and Southern but they are the only backrowers I rate. Tronc is a big unit but he has barely been playing up to QLD cup standards for the last year and a half. Matt Scott has been injured a lot but he was good. Cashmere is pretty much playing a lone hand so they don't have many forwards making hard yards.

They are good on paper but they rarely deliver good, consistent performances IMO. They need a couple of really good front rowers, they'll never win a Premiership relying on Webb and Cashmere for their go forward.

*edit* Wrong thread

It's not really news about Mattie though is it.It is amazing how they can take a piece of the damage and send it away to be grown and then put back into his knee. Was on Grandstand last week explaining it all.
Hope he is back better than ever next year. One hell of an exciting player to watch that little guy.

LOL! Tronc. LOL! Webb.

Powderpuffs.

On topic, poor Matty, but I hope they get his knee right so he can come back as good as new.

wonder if this is because they rushed him back too early? blind freddy could see he wasnt ready to start the season when he did.

I certainly think so.

Let's hope that this will give him plenty of time to get back to his best. On his day, there pretty much aren't any players in the game more exciting than Bowen.

Oh, and on the powderpuff issue - Webb is definitely one. I too think Tronc has improved - still not an absolute gun but a solid metre eater. Southern is very much up and down, injuries have played their part in inconsistent form there.

O'Donnell is damn awesome on his day but brain explosions have led to him being suspended for so many weeks throughout his career!

One guy that I do really rate, though, is Ray Cashmere. Nothing flashy, but he gets through a MOUNTAIN of work up the middle.

O'Donnell's form has been brilliant in the past, no doubting that.

It's sad to say, but I actually see him with Brad Meyers syndrome. One serious injury in a tackle and he forever remains the shadow of the player that he once was.

I'd love Cashmere to play for QLD, but he's from NSW. I'm pretty sure he played in the City v Country match. It's a shame, because he's so hard to stop being the size he is and seems to try so damn hard which is more than can be said for most of their forward pack at the moment.

I thought he was on the bench for Country but again, I wasn't exactly paying a lot of attention to that game!

He played for City so obviously not paying a lot of attention!

Otherwise I think he might have been the bolter for the QLD side that the selectors usually like to pick.
