Brisbane Broncos 2018 Player Awards

There must not have been a Clubman of the Year award.. Unless the award Thaiday got was it.

Adam Walsh won it. Not sure what he does but is on the support staff by the looks of it

Milford had to effectively win 16+ votes out of a possible 42 in those final seven rounds to win the medal (3-2-1 by the players and 3-2-1 by the coaching staff). The Broncos played Panthers (Won 50-18), Sharks (Won 12-10), Bulldogs (Lost 36-22), Cowboys (Lost 34-30), Rabbitohs (Won 38-18), Roosters (Won 22-8) & Sea Eagles (Won 48-16). Milford's last three games were noticeably strong and he would have picked up some votes in that Panthers clash and possibly in our lossers. I'm at a loss with Pangai Jr not receiving a solitary vote after Round 12. Even when he was only on the field for 30 minutes, his impact was undeniable and he was still coming up with big plays against Souths and the Roosters.

Milford's win is certainly out of left field, but it is a testament to Anthony's improvement as a player. Since the players voted for Ofahengaue, the coaching staff must have been impressed with the way Milford was leading the team around the paddock, particularly in those late rounds. Congratulations to him and I hope those performances against South Sydney and the Roosters are a sign of things to come from him.

Adam Walsh is the player welfare manager. Considering some of the hurdles some of our players had to overcome this season, his impact has been evident to see and it's good to see that recognized.

All the recipients are deserving. The only disappointment was the James Roberts try against the Chooks missing out. I can't think of any Bronco in history that could have scored that try, and that's including the Pearl. Bennett must not have had a say.

Finally, it was good to hear that Sammy received a 3 minute standing ovation when he went up to do his speech. He's been a wonderful ambassador for the club and a real fan favourite. Once Locky retired, nobody ever got a louder reaction on Game Day than Sam.

Joe Ofahengaue was the club's best forward this year I reckon, and the most consistent player.

Players' player is indicative. Hope he starts next season.

Lodge had some better games but was missing in quite a few.

That leg is insane

TPJ was on 36 after 12 rounds.

After 25 rounds, still 36...

What in the actual ****? Does anyone at the fucking club watch these fucking games?
Honestly he did go missing back end of the season with Hamstring injuries etc.

I am a little surprised Milford won, but he was good.

Lodge was great for us and deserved best forward after TPJ had the injuries. Alex Glenn for most consistent is fair too I think. He pretty much never has a terrible game, doesn't make too many errors and doesnt give away many penalties. I honestly think he is underrated. The times when he isn't on the field due to injury or having a breather, teams seem to find a lot more space down that edge with Milford. I recall the few times thaiday was defending out there and it was awful because he was so slow.

Honestly pretty happy with all the awards, the only one that i question slightly is Oates as best back. I think Jamayne was also great. Oates had a good end to the season but in the middle there he did have quite a few absolutely awful games where he just couldn't catch anything...

So true ! TPJ was on a slide in the backend of the season , be it injury or contract dealings. But said and done he went missing.

I am more than OK with Milf taking out the award. He played the same role as what Luke Keary did in the GF except he did it all season. He didn't have a halves partner and still put up some of the best numbers of his career. The Broncos wouldn't come close to being a playoff side if Milf wasn't around.

Milf definately became a true half this year. He's like take the McDonalds jokes and shove em up your cornhole.
