Brisbane Broncos 'hid' bad player behaviour

I don't think he was in anyway saying you do any of those things. I think he was just saying he thinks you're stupid in your comments.

Everyone knows they hide bad player behaviour, is it really that surprising?...what professional sporting organisation doesnt?

Im sure almost every1 here would know a story or two... the thing is i prefer to follow the league not the gossip!
WOW, you just injected some common sense in this thread, every single club hides player behavoir, these days though it's a lot harder.
The sponsor didn't exactly pull out, the contract finished they didn't renew, it's tough times financially, it's hard to blame them for not re-signing, and there is no quote from the sponsors so it's obvious that it's simply speculation that the sponsrs pulled out ebcause the broncos are hiding palyer behavoir which is perfect timing with the nick kenny, micheals incident.

I thought you weren't going to say anything else about this issue?

Actually if you saw the report on Ch 7, the Transport Minister DID say that non-renewal of the sponsorship was directly due to a) player behaviour and b) the club's attempts to hide it.

Honestly i can't believe we have this clown as our CEO

Although I'm not a Bruno fan I think that you are too quick to judge.

The time between when Costigan was charged and the time that fact went public was probably a space of 24 hours (I am guessing). Bruno's so-called "failure" to notify QLD Transport was probably through inadvertance rather than intentionally concealling it.

He probably only found out himself in the papers/watching the news.
Great story Channel 7.

As for Kenny and Michaels, seriously, Alf and Kevvie would cause more chaos in their heyday going down to the bakery for a pie. Get a reality check people, if a player knocks over a beer at a pub he's suddenly caught up in a "violent, alcohol fueled rampage involving and unnamed Rugby League player".

Again, what they actually did is not really the point. The point is that with all of the incidents that have happened over the past 1-2 years in RL (not just Broncos), they know they are going to be under much more scrutiny and everything no matter how minor is going to be reported. In the old days there really was a gentleman's agreement between media and footy players that stuff wouldn't really get reported, but now a days it is open slather.

Yep, and those that keep lamenting the media being arseholes probably need to be reminded of the Super League war, which was, in reality, a battle between two media giants - Fairfax and News Limited. It started a mud slinging war like you've never seen.

Fairfax would dig into the deepest darkest corners of News Ltd/Super League aligned players and officials, and News Limited ARL-aligned/Fairfax people.

Super League and the ARL called a truce. Fairfax and News Limited didn't. They still hate eachother and our rugby league players are really the victims.

But that's just another reason why the players need to pull their heads in and realise they'll be the casualties of this never ending battle between evil and evil.

Of course. But it still doesn't change that the players have to be accountable for their actions and it basically means drinking publicly is an extremely high risk activity for them.

Which isn't fair really, imo. But I do realise it's the lay of the land, etc etc, but no wonder our code is losing players.

Yes, and as far as I am concerned, if the Club has a Player Code of Conduct, it sticks to its terms and conditions, or risk losing credibility.
