Yeah there's no excuse for what happened last night. He shouldn't have played plain and simple but I do feel a little bit sorry for Voss (the coach) here.
Voss is under immense pressure for his job. Carlton are a huge club and they are heading backwards. Voss is a dead man walking and he's tried to make a statement by dropping the reigning best and fairest winner and back in his players to stand up for him.
Hollands said he is fine, almost pleaded with Voss to trust him and Voss has done so. He's basically tried to be a good coach and back his player and show faith in him and it has just gone completely wrong. Hollands shouldn't have played and the fact he did will only make matters worse now for all involved.
Everyone has made the wrong call here and now this guy's mental health will be even worse as he is being panned by all and sundry. Just a terrible situation all round.
