AFL Brisbane Lions - 2025 AND 2024 Premiers

Its not over but it is on life support. Our injuries are starting to catch up with us. The mids need to start doing two way running. That third quarter was disgusting, an all time record because we just couldn't be bothered defending.

Sure, everything turned to gold for GWS but we could have actually tried to defend or even to have slowed it down. It was so un-Brisbane like. We've got a LOT of issues right now.

Fletcher is having the worst season of his career, so is Rayner. McCluggage is a shadow of his former self. Coleman is a shell of his former self and Zorko, Lester and Berry can't stay on the field.

The mids need to step up defensively but it looks like they either can't be bothered or just don't have it in them this year. We look tired and banged up. Need the bye desperately but some big teams coming before we get there.

If anyone can win it from tenth its us but we'd want to get moving some time soon. Right now it looks like Geelong and everyone else. We can obviously match and beat them but we're nowhere near them at present.

This is a cracking game. Carlton are really good when they want to play.
 
Did the lions get a different conditioning coach? We look so tired, compared to years gone.
 
It’s never a soft landing back to earth after a premiership window.
 
Seems like the efforts of the past couple of years are finally catching up to them.

It's difficult to maintain such a high level for long periods of time.
 
I actually feel better after today. They started REALLY badly but got better as the game went on. The cavalry is coming, I'm actually breathing a bit easier but let's see what next week brings. They need to build on the good signs today.

Yes but the team showed some green shoots, not a huge amount but some. Particularly with some magnet moves like Fletcher to wing.
 
Well we've looked something more like ourselves thus far...but now we get on to the third quarter, this will say everything about the rest of our season. If we come out asleep again, it will be panic stations.
