According to cheif shit talker Badel, we have "won the race" to secure Cobbo with a 2 year extension taking him until the end of 2025. He has apparently agreed to terms for a 3 year 2m deal. Currently on 180k but this deal will see his value soar "upward" of 600k.

“Everyone loves the flashy stuff but we’re enjoying seeing Selwyn’s capacity to rip and tear out of the backfield,” Ikin said. “He is still learning how to be a first grader and that comes in two parts. “There’s the 80 minutes every week but also the week leading into it. “For young guys, they don’t get it right all the time and part of the journey they go on is getting feedback on where they fall short and ensuring they get better every week and every month. “Selwyn certainly falls into that category. There are parts of his game he can get better in, but there are other areas of his game that are ahead of where we thought he would be. “He is starting to work really well with Kotoni (Staggs) on that right edge.”“

“Selwyn is just a freakish talent,” Oates said. “He has so much room for improvement. He is only a kid. “He already comes up with big plays in certain games and in this game, he showed great speed to race away and score. “Selwyn is learning and it’s scary just how good he will become in the next two or three years. “He has a bright future ahead of him and it would be a big loss if he was to leave, but I’m confident the Broncos will do everything they can to keep him.”

On moving to fullback

“Not at the moment,” Walters said.

“We like the combination that Kotoni and Selwyn are performing on that right edge. “Long term Selwyn could move to fullback for us, but right now he is very comfortable on that right wing

Could explain his sudden surge of form.

I'm all for keeping Cobbo love the kid but as Ikin says above he's still learning to be a first grader.
Sit him down invite his parents and tell him we've got a plan in place for you to be getting this in 2 years. Kotoni said last week he only just got Selwyn talking so he's not moving away from his family he's not a Walsh type personality.
Herbie is closer to a finished product Selwyn is still in the development stages of his career we shouldn't be offering him more at this stage of his career.

Start at 300k and work up to 400k if needed for 2 years and go from there.

In a perfect world, we would do that.

But it's not a perfect world. Other clubs aren't going to be understanding. They will throw money at him to try and poach him.

We have to be aggressive and lock him up before they can.

Petey B came into this article with one objective... "How can I make re-signing of Cobbo cause animosity?"

::::Inflate the price to extreme levels::::

We need to calm the **** down and realise Ikin loves money ball and media try to antagonize situations for clicks... it's more than likely we have actually re-signed him for a good price.

Be happy that he's a good player and he's staying.
