Broncos 2020 Squad

We could have a massive pack if we wanted

8. Lodge
10. Ofahengaue
11. Pangai
12. Fifita
13. Haas

That’s scary
This is probably what we should have. Maybe Carrigan starting at lock and Joe off bench just to have some more sting off the bench.

this is also why I was against re signing Glenn. I don’t think he fits in our best team now.

All this talk about player x being signed or not signed ect just goes to show that most players are replaceable. On arrow specifically i am holding judgement. He was the best in an outfit of shit. Showed he has gumption but it also took a big toll injury wise. There is also that little caveat where good teams are not always switched on playing crap sides so the one player having a go shines. I need to see him playing in big contests to make a call. In origin he was good in his second stint bit his first was poor.
etc. Not ect. Sorry but if you're going to abbreviate at least be correct.

Could extract the best out of Oates by moving him to the backrow. It seems his time on the wing is nearly up, the signs are showing that he’s a forward playing as a winger. It also frees up space on the wing to develop someone like Coates, Farnworth, Perese or Arthars.

I’d like to see Boyd and Bird as a combo and have them just be solid in defence as a minimum standard.

Fifita, Staggs and Coates on the right side would provide enough spark in attack.

On the left, we’d just need proper execution of plays which Boyd and Bird would be useful for.

Both halves should be floating around either side of the ruck along with Isaako at fullback IMO. Croft did this well for AUS Under 23’s.

I am keen to see how our spine gels. Will be interesting if Isaako and Milford start to link up together.

I think our best tactic this year is to work hard on defence and in attack just have a general goal to keep pushing forward with confidence and finish our sets off well.

When we’re close to the line I don’t think we’ll find it hard to score. We have the strike power, size and skill.

Right

Haas at lock.

No. Haas and Lodge need to be the ones taking the first hit ups to build momentum.

The defensive wingers are gonna have to stay back at all times in the opposition half you would think, which opens up holes for the attack to slip through
Unlikely. It's still a tough kick. Personally I don't like the rule at all. Basically it gives a team who did nothing at all in their set attack wise the chance to pull a cat out of the bag and get a second set.

Teams won't be doing first or second tackle kicks, it is just too big a risk. But it means that a team that works their butt off in defence for 4 or 5 tackles keeping them inside the 20 could then get burnt by a long kick.

I don't know about Oates... i feel like he was the kid at school that did well because he was a foot taller than everyone else. He is a bit of a gumby, has very poor lateral movement and isn't great defensively at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a rather quick fall from grace.

Maybe this year or next he moves to the second row, but i don't see him lasting big minutes there so would likely go to the bench or something.

Our middle forwards have the ability to play big minutes so we can afford to sub off Oates and put on Glenn whenever we like.

Brodie Croft being heavily considered for the captaincy - Mole

He cites the reasons being the uncertainty of Glenn & McCullough being in our best 13, on top of the recent shenanigans of some of the younger players, and the uproar that Lodge would cause. Croft may be the last viable option.

Well now we can rule Croft out as the Captain then at least.

I just watched 2015 season highlights on youtube. We played with so much more depth and ran onto the ball back then. I dont know why we play so shallow and flat footed now. Hopefully we can address that this next year.

We do play very flat.. So flat that our hookers are forced to throw forward passes and our halves have no time to think.

Croft seems like he is pretty alert to whats going on. I’ve heard him talk more already in Broncos colours than I have Milford... I still have no idea who Milford is off the field.

Nice photo of the Broncos greatest ever Halfback, even a cameo from Alfie in the background.

Well it's hard to say when we don't know his exact price. And if you consider most good forwards are $750k plus then isn't to bad .
I think he will be good for us he just needs consistency, was great before his injury and the team as a whole was average last year.
That sounds familiar.. sounds like Copley level excuses

100% this should definitely be a tactic teams should be drilling at training..
Like what Canberra did this year with the stripping. Clear they came into 2019 with a solid intent

You'd hear him a lot on the other end of a Macca's speaker box
