How many points does it usually take to sneak in the 8? There is a clear top 4 and everyone else is floundering it’s not out of the question.

I think we made it in 2019 with 25 points which was historically one of the lowest cut offs. Don't quote me on any of that though.

Prior to the last couple of years. 28 pts would usualy get you into finals.

But the way the comp has been over the last 2-3 years could be a lot lower than that. 2020 was 20pts and 2019 was 25pts.

Edit: last yeat there was only 20 games played so that skews the results slightly.

Do you mean specifically this year, or just our general benchmark?
Coz if you mean general benchmark I'm with you, top 8 or failure.
But if you're talking about this year, the year following a wooden spoon and the worst season in the clubs history with just 3 wins from an entire season, where the team showed basically no heart ever, and then this year given the hardest draw in the comp, then I have to disagree.
There's a place somewhere between last year's nightmare and the top 8, a stepping stone from 1 to the other, that this year should be given a pass mark.

Just general benchmark, but I still think we have the capability this year to finish at least 8th. We are better than what we are showing.

I think without Milford we can get alot more wins as we tend to drop heads less in games without him, but top 8 is looking basically impossible now.

That saying the teams that have smashed us all look premiership level with a Massive gap to the rest, IMO even making the 8 is pointless as the gap between the top 4 teams and the rest is like NRL and a weak Qcup team.

For mine, not getting the spoon and even finishing above the bottom four is a win for this year. 9-12 would be excellent.

All these games are state of origin affected games (which doesn't affect us as much as it used too), which would help us with the raiders and souths. Besides souths these are all bottom 8 teams, who we will overtake as we beat them.

Oh yes.....its all been Milfords fault. Never mind the fact that he's been in the side for 2 of our 3 wins this year.
