Broncos face fight to keep Hunt

Yeah, can't say I enjoy this roundabout.

If he doesn't want to stay and try to redeem himself then he can **** off

100% Hunt should try to prove a point he's one of my favourite players. I was picking him as a roughie for the daly M. So a player isn't totally committed to the club we should let him go.

Can't blame him for exploring all the possible options for him and his young family. A move to Sydney could reignite his career. He owes the Broncos nothing, he has been terrific for the most part pre 2016.

So you think that if a player doesn't accept our first offer and dares to consider other offers then we should dump them for being disloyal. Honestly you need to grow up.

We would have lost quite a few of our star players over the years if we did that.

Locky being one of them.

Hunt isn't going anywhere. He is just playing a bit of hardball to get a better deal and I don't blame him.

He has one or two more contracts left in his career. He needs to set his family up for life after footy.

He is committed to the club. He is just playing the game that everyone plays when contract talks come up.

Is it only me who still thinks the hunt knock on wasn't actually a knock on?? The ball clearly bounces behind him and bounces backwards, he initially drops it but then batts it towards his try line trying to regather....

Wow... i actually rewatched it again and noticed the eerily similar times on the clock when hunt was scoring points...

6min mark
Just before half time
6mim after half time
75-80th minute mark

Milford does his thing at the 60th minute mark

Even the two grubbers from hunt to milf, almost identical times in the game, same play.

Very interesting

Yeah no idea why you'd want to lose that kind of player. But each to their own.

I have chosen to wipe that game from my memory tbh. Also, thanks for not only bringing it up, but linking us all to a video that allows us to relive it. Nashy's toe is throbbing right now, i'd guarantee it. Masochist....

He's in a pretty good spot to be fair, a few clubs would throw the house at him due to their lack of options (Dragons for one), I couldn't begrudge him for trying to squeeze as much as possible, business is business.

It's in the interest of both parties to hold off on a new deal. Everyone looking for a big pay day will be holding out as much as possible until the 2018 salary cap is actually released.

Hunt could be underselling himself if it explodes and broncs could be investing too much if it is only a marginal increase.

I'd say the initial contract put forward by Brisbane would've been a low ball offer to see if they could lock him down on the cheap

Holding off could backfire on either party.

If the Broncos hold off and Hunt kills it, then they will have to pay much more to keep him.

If Hunt holds off and he struggles, then his value will decrease.

Yeah true but I think everyone is pretty much hamstrung at the moment without a cap for next year.

If we lose Ben Hunt what are the chances of gaining Lachlan Lewis from the Bulldogs nephew of Wally looking the goods in the under 20s

I would say we would have the same chance as if we were to keep Ben Hunt.

Yes it is only you, or people who just don't want to face reality. The ball clearly travels forward after it hits his chin, then his chest, then both hands.

How is it a fact that Hunt cost us the GF?
