Hey guys I'm pretty new to the forum, was having a look on the site as Im a keen fantasy footy coach and was checking to see what the broncos faithful thought of the backline and forwards makeup this season.

was suprised to see how many people didnt have hoffman at fullback. i think he and hodges are right where they are.

was tossing up about a few broncs this year in my team but apart from the front row and hodges, the rest of the positions are either very competitive or still unknown. ...hopefully some rookies in there this year as always. love my cheap baby broncos! ha

Thanks for joining BHQ, Do I call you Mr Daily? Or is just Fantasy fine?

ha Hedge is fine...but either of your suggestions will suffice. ... good to finally be part of the gang

Welcome aboard Hedge, hope to see you around.

I reckon your best bet with Broncos players would be to select work-horses like Josh McGuire who's value should increase given the amount of game-time he's about to receive or a rookie backline member like Maranta, Berryman or Kemp who should be cheap and increase in value pending on the players inside of them. Parker is usually a must-have but if your aiming for a good overall score you'd be better off waiting for a few weeks for his price to drop a bit before jumping on the bandwagon.

Yeh thanks Pete. the site had a very similar opinion of parker, especially as Prince will likely take the kicking duties. had my eye on Kemp. i remember too fondly his 2008 season. ...and the big Goose is already locked into the team. i also picked him up in the Draft that im doing this year. i reckon his minutes will be 60+. expecting big things from him and Hannant.

i think the big question with parker is will he play 80 mins. no ones really sure as yet. at his price now he only needs to score 59 per game to maintain that price, which playing 80 mins he probably can. losing the kicking isnt a real big issue only avg'd 3 pts per game from kicking last year.

We would have to score tries for the kicking to come into it....

McGuire and maybe Hodges are the only players worth looking at, check the team list for round 1 for either Kemp, Kahu or Berryman.

I expect Parker to lose the kicking duties so hes a no go until he drops in price.

I am taking a punt on Gillett. I think we will see the best of him this year and he is cheap.

In daily telegraph fantasy i picked all broncos players :P

I am actually taking a calculated punt on Hoffman (if he gets fullback). Because of his useless form his pretty bloody cheap and probably can't really lose any money. If he pulls his finger out he could be a decent scorer... Or at the very least make me some money

So Hoffman is a no, no. Kemp is a no, no. On the plus side rather than an out of form Norman and out of form thaiday inside him Hodges will have Gillette and prince. Expect good scores. Norman can occasionally pass too unlike Hoffman which gives the right side even more opportunity to wreak havoc. Expect good things from Gillette. As thaiday seems to be moved to full time prop Gillette will get way more minutes this season and has some really good men on his outside to capitalise on off the cuff play. Thaiday leaves a real question mark though. Out of form last season he was a very consistent scorer in the back row. I expected his scores to increase. Now he's on the front row I don't know. Maybe he'll be played like a kasiano. Watch this space. Moose seems to have been given the dominant prop position as hannnant has gone from best prop to worst this season. Hopefully for our team his form turns. For dream team it's perfect where it is.

I normally love hannant. He has heart and put more effort in than any other player last season. He just hasn't seemed quite as good in the trials with McGuire possibly ahead of him. "hopefully his form turns" as in to his form of last season. Which I fully expect it to. McGuire's getting so good these days that there isn't too much between them. By worst prop I meant worst of regular first graders. There are only two. I also didn't consider the fact that hook may sub off thaiday and return him to the back row leaving hannant more minutes than I expected.

Hook might be using Hannant as a James Graham type role, get Thaiday on for first 20minutes, Hannant subs him plays 60 minutes and Thaiday returns for the last 20 minutes to sub McGuire. Maybe. We'll find out what the plan is next week!

Whatever the plan I don't think Hannant on the bench means he's regarded as the No.2 prop.
