I hate bullshit articles like this.

Haas, Fifita, Flegler, Staggs, Dearden, Turpinwere all unknowns before the start of this year.

They play first grade, play well and now fucking ridiculous articles like this are released essentially painting the picture that we have "Creative" cap management.

Besides half these wages are based on speculation, not to mention that Badel wrote this article... Thats as reliable as reading something from drunk buzz.

Defamation. Plain and simple. I wish players' wages would be made public. Immediately half the journalists and Rugby league shows just disappear and we have a purer product.

EDIT: Plus players can no longer plead ignorance when it comes to capcheating.

The cost of living may increase, but it doesnt mean you need to earn 20% more to cover the difference.

What absolute **** wrote this shit.

If the cost of living is $20k more in sydney, it doesnt mean you'd need to pay a $500k player an extra $100k to justify moving you absolute fucking twonk.

Further to this. Hunt was probably going to get $700k here, It's not his or our fault the saints shit the bed and offered enormous overs.

If they think thats all Carrigan is on they are having a laugh. Is Seggy only on development contract money as well?

Same can be said for every squad in the nrl. There are all spending around the cap so it's likely to be the same for Melbourne. They'd have players not in first grade earning, soaking up cash.
I just meant the 5 players that post referred too not the whole squad.
Some like haas are now getting unders others are about right.

Players 27-30 only have to be on $72,500. That goes up $2500 pa as per the EBA.

1-26 have to be on a minimum $105,000 so if the CM believe Paix is number 26 he can't be on $85,000.

All those guys from Fensom to Paix have to be on at least $105,000.

If player agents want to tell their players don't leave Brisbane for Sydney unless we can get $100k more isn't that a good thing for the Broncos?

I am 100% sure that would happen, if I was weighing up leaving home and the Broncos for Sydney I would want at least 100k more.

Thinking forward.....without any complete inside fact, only rumours. If the Boyd was to retire this year/next year, Macca also and Milf re negotiated we could claw back 1-1.2m, to then disperse to others.

I currently dont see a need for a single player on 1m, only because of the squad we have. If they are all sincerely in it for each other to get a premiership it will be hard for one guy to say hes worth more than some others and not have an ego. Sure on the open market theres a few that will fetch 1m, but buying in together will make for much better career.

I know that going to 800k from 1m would not hurt my lifestyle. Hell if you cant generate a good future and lifestyle on 500k a year then something is wrong.

Can we have a similar article on the rorters? It'd be interesting to see these journos attempt to justify them being under the cap, especially when you add in this mysterious 20%.

In all honesty the rorters simply use their TPA and lux lifestyle as a value adder. Discount cars for family, corporate engagements, discounted or cheaper rental properties to live in, free food and drink wherever they go to club affiliated venues (which is half the pubs and restaurants in sydney). That sort of stuff is worth 100k+ per player a year to these guys.
