Broncos link with Souths-Logan

Sounds decent but while it's nice having another feeder, need to make sure our scouts are signing up the right players.

Raiders finally realising calling dibs on an area, then treating the recruits like shit when they have to move interstate and making false promises relating to the players' families and their health, is not good for long term relations.

Papalli will be here next year too.

I did note that his family have decided to shift back to Logan from Canberra.

Raiders supporters claiming this is some kind of NRL leg-up for us.. aim your anger at the senile bunch of mongs running your club into the ground.

'Boo hoo the Broncos signed our star junior better pull out of junior development' isn't a sound way of dealing with it, this is pretty much a Bradbury pickup for us.

The GH up in arms about the Broncos again.
Which part about the Magpies contacting the Broncos did they not understand?

As long as they keep blaming everybody else for their own ****-ups, they're going to be the laughing stock of the comp.

I actually genuinely feel for the normal Raiders fans (so not the average guy on the GH). They've been copping the Furners for years, only for Don to add insult to injury with the Sticky recruitment. Now they lose their long standing feeder club from Qld and may lose their best backrower in Papalii as well...

Wormy & Bushy, I know people normally pick and stick with a club forever, but you probably need to move on to a better one for your sanity. Of course, we'd be happy to welcome you at the Broncos.

The Raiders have received some good talent from Souths-Logan, i can't beleive they were stupid enough to throw away their relationship. probably still crying because Milford wanted to be closer to family.

But the Raiders loss is our gain.

The Raiders do it very well in the area, and they've left the area before when the NSWRL made them a few years ago- Souths survived and so did the Raiders.

If the Raiders see their development path better suited to the Mounties then that might be the right call. Storm left Norths despite producing players galore for them and kept going well.

No ... they were told by the NSWRL that they weren't permitted to send players to the ISC, but that got overturned shortly after. probably because the Raiders weren't a NSW club

It applied to everyone, NSW clubs couldn't have a team in the ISC, ban was lifted so Raiders came back and now Storm have also.

The deal means the Broncos will have six affiliate Intrust Super Cup clubs next season.
Souths juniors such as Daniel Vidot and Anthony Milford will play for the Magpies if they don’t make first grade.

Lol. I love how they mentioned that as if it were somehow a possibility. Good news though.

Every player in the top 25 is allocated a ISC player.

Raiders did a great job in the area, they didn't just call dibs. They also did a lot of great things for players in the area.

Official statement: Souths Logan Magpies
Souths Logan Magpies CEO, Jim McClelland, talks about the new beginnings for the Magpies and the reason behind the move.
After a meeting in early August with Canberra Raiders CEO, Don Furner, it was very clear that the Magpies options going forward in Queensland with the Raiders had some serious concerns. In 2014, the Raiders placed players into the NSW Cup and the Intrust Super Cup, but it was very clear that next season they would only place their players with Mounties.
The club then made the decision to look for other options. It was quickly very clear that the best option for our supporters, the junior clubs and our club as a whole was the Brisbane Broncos.
This decision was not made lightly. It was agonised over by our board for a long period of time. Because it has only been through the Raiders and their tremendous support of our club and the junior development program that we have been able to achieve such great success and gifted us with the ability to restructure and grow our business.
It was very clear that the development model that we had been working with for over 13 years would not achieve the results and the return on the Raiders investment within the corridor. Without the ability to receive players on a weekly basis, it would have been very difficult with our current roster to be competitive on the field in 2015 and beyond.

It was made abundantly clear that all players from the Raiders would be going to the Mounties in 2015 and we would revisit the possibility of those players returning to the Magpies in 2016. The uncertainty surrounding our immediate future was the catalyst in the decision to join the Brisbane Broncos.

The club’s discussions with Broncos CEO, Paul White, were very open and his honesty was very apparent from day one. This made our decision far more comfortable to move on from the Raiders, who have provided continuous support over the years, to a new Broncos family.
It is a new beginning for the Magpies and we look forward to the mutual benefits provided through the creation of the continuous pathways our development program offers the youth within our corridor.
I would personally like to thank Don Furner, the football department and his board for the support of the Magpies over the past 13 seasons, while acknowledging Paul White and his board for giving us the opportunity to work alongside the Broncos in 2015.

A team made up of the best players that grew up in Souths - Logan would win the comp.

Good snap up, before B2 gets too many wings.

Came across this, dunno if it's already been posted in another thread but it's an interesting read

I'm pretty sure Thurston came from there as well

Thurston is a Sunnybank boy.

I don't know where Lote played as a junior but he went to school at Sunnybank in Brisbane, don't know why he would have travelled all the way from Login to get there.
