What premiership winning squad doesn't have a mil+ player playing in the spine?
All true. Which team has ever won a premiership with a million $ fullback?

2006 Shane Perry…oh wait wrong questionWhat premiership winning squad doesn't have a mil+ player playing in the spine
I'm hoping you are right. Better defensive structure should help him, but as an individual he has to work on what he isnt good at. At the moment i'm seeing attacking brilliance but poor decision making and positioning in defence. He really should be better than he is in that regard going into his 5th year of NRL.Walsh will improve as the team improves, game plans, set plays and the like. His defence will improve as the teams defence improves and that should be highest priority on Madge’s preseason. I don’t care if he spends half the season working on our defence. Our attack will just follow along once we get that bit right.
A bit like Bennett did with St George when they came good.
Change of coaching staff maybe all he needs. Makes you wonder what Boyd was doing with him. Might pay dividends if Madge organises Slater to make a visit or two during preseason and also someone to teach the crew about short kick offs while he’s at it.I'm hoping you are right. Good. About time.
Now we need to actually do something about him being targeted.
He is absolutely worth the money but it is still too much when we want to build a premiership winning squad.
Are you saying he wasn't "targeted" in SOO game 1?Targeted ?
He got smacked in the head twice when he slipped and lowered his level and got hit in the head .
Either don`t try to step players and lose your footing or find some boots that will keep him on his feet going into contact .
Both incidents that took him out last year he contributed to by losing his balance and falling into the tackles.

Dont think Darius worked one on one with him that much. He was more there to help with the attacking plays with our backline iirc. I get the feeling Boyd felt he wasnt being used enough and thats why he left his role.
Seems a waste. Perhaps Darius couldn’t come up with anything constructive in regard to Reece.Dont think Darius worked one on one with him that much. I dont think he was really given the opportunity. We have already heard a few things about Kevvie basically wanting yes men who wont challenge him too much. One thing Boyd does is speak his mind.Seems a waste. Perhaps Darius couldn’t come up with anything constructive in regard to Reece.
Suailli was always aiming high.......Walsh slipping over played a part, but it was never going to end any other way than a high shot on Reece.Target him with brutal tackles yes .
Head high ? What the fck are you on ?
Did you read my post above ? He fell over as he was about to be tackled . Do you think Sualiiiii could make the split second decision to change his aim as Walsh was falling to make sure he hit him in the head ?
Yeah peak years Boyd was a very technically elite fullback. His physicality such as speed and agility wasn’t near guys like Slater but he had mastered the craft.I dont think he was really given the opportunity. People probably have a bit of a skewed opinion of Boyd really because of how things ended up. They forget how good he was before his body started breaking down and only remember how his form dropped at the end.
