In a first for the National Rugby League, the WOW Brisbane Broncos squad has been immortalised on the iconic game of Monopoly.

Released today, the game features 18 current players and six club icons including legends Kevin Walters, Gorden Tallis, Wally Lewis, Gene Miles and Ivan Henjak.

Rather than wheel and deal with Mayfair and Park Lane, players have the chance to build a rugby-opoly empire through buying, renting and mortgaging their favourite Brisbane Bronco stars including Captain Darren Lockyer, Justin Hodges, Corey Parker and Nick Kenny all who feature on the famous Board Walk.

Brisbane Broncos Club Captain, Darren Lockyer said: “The game celebrates the Brisbane Broncos’ commitment to our loyal fans and the Club’s major objective through the Brisbane Broncos Charities Fund to provide funding to a varied list of charities.â€

“With only 7000 games produced we’re confident these collector edition games will sell like hot cakes. And it doesn’t matter who your favourite Brisbane Broncos’ player is, because when you buy one of these games you’ll be supporting the Brisbane Broncos Charities Fund and the Courier-Mail Children’s Fund.

The Courier-Mail Managing Director and Children’s Fund spokesperson Jerry Harris said: “This is a fantastic product and the fact it is endorsed by the NRL as an official product gives it enormous credibility.â€

Brisbane Broncos Marketing Manager, Marty Rowen said: “The interest in this product has been overwhelming with hundreds of enquiries; it has really blown us away.â€

The games are on sale now for $79.95 at WOW Sight and Sound and Supercheap Auto stores.

The game is an initiative of the McGuinness McDermott Foundation and the nineteenth board game project in five years. The game is predicted to follow in the footsteps of the success of the AFL Charity Editions of Monopoly that were a ‘sell out’.

The project has been proudly sponsored by Channel Nine, The Courier-Mail, Radio 4BC and Nova 106.9.

Oh yeah, I saw those being plugged at Suncorp and was going to bring it up.

Looks cool but $80 it too much for me though.

I want one.... I might buy it for my Missus for her birthday.

Which player would win second prize in a beauty contest and collect ten bucks??

Instead of battleships, top hats, etc what are the tokens?

Mobile phones, cubicles and empty spirit bottles?

******

On a side note has anyone seen the NRL mascot game on DS?

LOLZ; you get to do a few levels in a action-platform type scenario as your teams mascot and then each 'boss' level is an actual game of NRL.

Cool for kids!

You are steve michaels. Go directly to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200

They really couldve had some fun with the chance cards lol. "You have been caught up in a group sex scandal, pay each player $100 as hush money" etc

Didn't Cronulla have something similar a couple months back? But they get rid of it because Greg Bird kept on landing on Go To Jail

And Tony Zappia kept on stealing the community chest cards

I'd like to purchase this, even though I am not a big monopoly or board game player. However the $80 is a bit steep like Fozz said so I will probably pass haha

got my game today. took a bit longer cause i had to get it sent down to sydney by my parents for me. seems to be the same old game just with locky and co as the places you buy.

also community chest and chance are called home and away and you pick up a "home jersey card" or " away jersey card". also your tax sections are now "donate $200 to courier mail kids charity" etc.

for those intereste lockyer is mayfair, alfie park lane. and the 3 others on that side are kevvie walters, gordie and wally lewis.

Anyone know if these are still being sold or if they're all sold out? Mums thinking of getting it for me for my Birthday/Christmas present.

I saw heaps in Super Cheap about 2 weeks ago.
