Broncos Needing Rebuild

Could be as early as next week, he had a cortisone and now it's just a matter of whether he can tolerate the pain. If not, he will have to go for surgery which is 6 weeks or there abouts. If he can deal with the pain, he'll get surgery at season's end.
Is it the sort of thing you could further damage by playing? Like other ligaments over compensating?

Seibold sounded very keen to get Milf back out there as soon as possible so it seems he is not too concerned about further damage. I don't know enough about injuries to know with any certainty, but I assume if Seibold is wanting to rush him back there is probably little risk of further damage.

Speaking of milf, any updates on his injury? Still indefinite?

Could be back next week. According to Seibold's pre-match address on the Broncos website, Milford received a cortisone shot to deal with the pain. If he's right, he'll play against the Warriors. If it's still bothering him, he'll have minor surgery to clean out his knee and could be out till Round 22.

He will have to have surgery on his knee at some stage, Seibs' is just hoping until it's the off-season so he can see how the team performs with him at fullback.

Send him to surgery before he dislocates that shoulder again and misses ANOTHER preseason

I think it was Anasta who just said on Fox, how can a side that that was in contention for a premiership this year, definitely a top 4 candidate, be in a rebuilding phase, I'm sick of the excuses, he said. Fair question I would have thought.
One minute all these media "experts" have us missing the 8 ... Then magically, they have us as premiership contenders when it looks like we may miss the 8, conveniently forgetting that's exactly what they tipped us to do in the first place

I’m really starting to believe in a spine of

1. Milford
6. SoS
7. Dearden
9. Turpin
14. Seggy

I’ve been really impressed with how O’Sullavin has been developing. An off season to get everybody on board plays and structures and I think this could be a very decent spine.

Yep I’m completely on board.

Although I know Boyd will be in the 1 or 6. It hurts that he has to be in one of those positions.

Boyd will most likely not be playing 2020. I think there's so much to look forward to in this squad.

I just read an article from James Hooper staying that Seggy is on a development contract.

If that’s the case then he can only be brought into first grade as injury coverage which is why Seibold cant drop a fit Macca.

If this is the case I find it positive for two reasons, firstly it’s genius cap manipulation to pick up a player as good as Seggy on below minimum wage. But secondly and more importantly, it isn’t necessarily the case that Seibold rates Macca, he simply can’t drop either Turpin or Macca for Seggy unless one of them is injured.

Can’t a coach manipulate that situation and say Macca had a training mishap and is “injured”. Or does that shit get investigated?

I think it would be hard to convince Macca to pretend to be injured so he can be replaced for the rest of the season.

Pretty sure 1910 said that after June 30 your development players are available whenever you want... so you basically get a squad of 36 from June 30 onwards

So my takeaway from this is to put ‘a contract’ out on Macca?? And by contract I mean another training ‘mishap’.

Interesting. Do they remain on their development contract or do the become entitled to minimum NRL wage?

Basically what the article says is that Seggy is signed for a fraction of the minimum wage due to his development contract status. If it is the case that he remains on that low amount but is also available whenever you want after June 30, that’s is quiet the finesse.

@1910 ?

Yeah they stay on their development contracts... I think the change happened to avoid situations like last year where we wanted to play Staggs but couldn't

I thought Herbie had already been upgraded to the 30 or is that as of next year??

Surprised Kennedy is on development as well... thought he may have been a top 30 in Souths squad.
