Broncos NYC 2015

Joe Ofahengaue should be playing ISC ... We'll never get him ready for the NRL while he plays in the NYC...

I'm all for Oates and Joe to be playing big minutes in ISC getting ready to be regulars in first grade some time this year but this is a perplexing decision.

Jayden Nikorima in the centres... hmmm.

I'm nearly as interested as this game as I am in first grade.

Always been a fan of watching the junior talent and the type of players the Broncos are looking to bring to the club. It's obviously been the club's bread and butter for decades and after a few lean years it appears we're heading in the right direction.

A couple of new faces in Dodd, TeRupe, Gagai, Sua & Wolens. Even Lavea to an extent is new given he only played one game as an inclusion so as always will be interesting to see how they go, what they bring to the side and what they offer.

But Jayden in the centres is the selection I'm most interested in watching. Jayden was magnificent in that role in the NYC Grand Final and just about won the game for us with his brother, so I'm interested to see whether that move was made to compensate Jacob or a sign of his future.

Regardless, I'm tipping a close game with both teams dropping in and out of the game. Brisbane to finish on top by 4.

Not sure what the deal is but a lot of high profile guys you'd expect to see playing ISC or NSW Cup are playing NYC.

Roosters have Hastings playing NYC, Raiders have Brenko Lee, Luke Bateman and Tevita Pangai Jr. etc.

And it's hardly a one off thing either, you see it every other year with guys like Alex Johnston starting the year in 20s although by all reports the plan is for them to play first grade by years end.

Go Time For Joe - Broncos

well im absolutely perplexed..... jayden in the centres is a miserable decision. the bench hooker saitaua is an absolute ball hog who wont pass, and joe playing 20's is a gee up as well... craig hodges has zero idea...
im hoping drew gets back to old form this year and goes good again.
tim wolens is an interesting one too, he has been in the system a long time and i thought he was done but looks like he has come back to the fold. I dont know much about sua, and alex barr is only average. I would expect arrow to step up again this year and also george fai to really cut loose as well.

I can see why some might think Joe should be playing ISC, but it is nice for the 20s to be taken seriously and to try to field your strongest team, if they are not ready for first grade. Joe will most likely still play a bit of both I think. I agree with your thoughts on Saitaua but mate if they can get him right he would be damaging. Sua is a surprise as he is very young, but from all reports something pretty special on and off the field. Looked the goods in the last trial. I actually quite like the idea of Nikorima in the centres, very excited to see the game.

I thought Jayden really changed the grand final when he come on at hooker last year. Bit perplexed by the decision to play him in the centres unless we are injury riddled in that position

He mostly played left centre in the second half of the grand final...

Boys are looking good against a poor Rabbits line-up. Arrow, Sua and Nikorima standouts but lots of good performances so far.

Any particular standouts? Bronx twitter indicates Jayden doing well, but anyone else?

30-10 to us, according to twitter. Last update fifteen minutes ago though.

Broncos 36 Souths 10. Scrappier second half but Broncos weren't troubled. Plenty of stand outs, would add Taylor to that earlier list.

Hey guys, anyone know if there were any changes to the side that was named on Tuesday?
