Isn't Jacks off contract this year? Was thinking that Croft might be on the outter and possibly release him if they tie Jacks up..
So you're banking on another club's discard to be the answer to HB in Bronco colours? You must have a really low opinion on the squad.

One man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure

Currently he doesn't fit in at Parramatta for certain reasons. It would be hard to curb his attitude and ways.

Although hesitant, Bennett is a great man manager and a change of scenery might be what he needs. If he was playing well at Parra it wouldn’t be an issue but they aren’t so tensions are high

I was happy when Norman left but I am open for him to come back. He has demonstrated he wants to take charge of a team which is what we need

I wouldn't be against giving a contract to Croft ... he could be just what we need.

The Storm didn't give him much of a chance this year ... he paid the price for the entire team under performing

My impression is croft came in and tried to put his mark on the side and Smith pulled him aside and said mate it's my team this is how you're going to play - he didn't play the way Smith wanted him to and so Smith said **** it and started ostracizing him from the side both on and off the field - which meant Croft doubled down on things when he got the ball in order to prove something to Smith. It went balls up and they went with Jacks who's seemingly fitting the Storm mould a bit better.

Neither party is wrong in that situation, albeit you can make a small argument for Croft not respecting his elders in that environment. Croft looked good when he filled in for Cronk in previous years and looked good in Q Cup. Maybe bringing him here and saying ok mate, this is your team go for it, might not be the worst idea.

the problem is our glaring need is a halfback ... not many out there that we could get ...

I would take Norman, scrap that I would love Norman. If he is on the outer surely we could try and get him here before June 30.

i hope Norman never comes to this club again

IMO Norman is cancer. Too full of himself, not sure why as he's only put up one good season in the halves. Would rather let this season play out and give Boyd or Paix a go.

From the limited amount I've seen of Boyd I really like him. Could make a great hooker too if halves don't work out.

Those 2 guys are way off, and that is assuming they live up to half the potential people seem to think they have.

Norman needs to get back home and have a coach like Bennett. Get out of Sydney and let Bennett do what he does best.

We need a halfback, we can't wait around for the guys coming through that will hopefully be good. They will either not live up to the potential or if they show even slight signs of being quality will be snapped up by a ridiculous offer by some shit stain club like the Titans or Newcastle.

What has Norman done that makes you so sure we can't pass him up? He's shithouse in the worst side in the comp.

Norman appears to be the best option. He is a genuine first receiving playmaker with all the tools and prior to Moses arriving he was thriving in that role.

Eels then changed their approach to split halves and giving more ownership to Moses. Norman faded into a second playmaker and the two halves began to conflict with each other (too many chefs in the kitchen).

Norman is already able to play as a dominant first receiving halfback so a Norman + Milf partnership is premiership material but it would require a coaching shift away from split halves and more importantly Milf would have to take a backseat and play a genuine second receiver role similar to how Keary has played the last few years. This would be a massive shift to how we currently play and would be difficult to implement mid season.

The other concern would be whether Milf has the ego to play second fiddle... especially now that he has been put on a development path to becoming a dominant half. He's been given the reins so to all of a sudden take it off him could be a massive hit to him and could cause friction in the team.

Jacks isn't a discard, nor is Croft, he is young and will break it once he develops a little more.
Again, I come back to the point that Jacks is off contract at the end of the year.
My opinion is the club need to move players around, and possibly experiment with different players in different positions. The squad is strong, and I have never questioned that. I do however question some players in certain positions at the moment.

And not many really fill our requirements:

• Lewis has been fighting for a halves spot he has been playing at centre on occasion
• Brimson is a fullback/five-eighth
• Moon is a centre/five-eighth in a struggling side and injury prone.
• Thurston is on the way out
• Walters, lamb, lam (who I believe the roosters have re-signed) are more running playmakers rather than organisers
• Elgey is an option but we all know his flaws
• Cullen, Murphy, Scarlett have been around long enough and still haven’t got a start yet. Nona can’t even make the seagulls team they have a fullback and a hooker in the halves
• Moses seems like a odd fit and would have offers from other Sydney clubs
• Norman has his issues but being back at home might be good for him
• DCE won’t leave the money he has there it’s too easy for him
• Jacks looks good and you can’t see them keeping both him and Croft. Croft would be a great pick up and the longer Smith is around the less chance he is in first grade and bigger the chance something might come out of it
A lot of them add more than Kodi does though. Moon has been playing five-eighth this year and doing well. He is more of a runner though and he has been tearing apart the Super League for years. Defends well too. I'd love someone like Cullen to come in and just do their job like you know they would. Still hoping Bennett was in George Williams ear at the Denver Test.
