Broncos Player Movements and Rumours 2014

should also mean less chance of parker and thaiday playing typical prop role too. good stuff.

Nice, I like it.

He's young and Bennett's recognised ability to bring out the best out of forwards, he could become a weapon.

Agreed and lets be honest, Josh Mcguire and Martin Kennedy(he will still have to earn his future but at this stage) are really our best options as starting props with Hannant gone it then becomes a question of who we have on the bench, we do have a number of promising young props on the way but it's good to stock up on some props who can at worse bridge the gap even just for the time frame till they are ready for the big time or even better turn out to be quality pickups.

Few rumors doing the rounds on facebook that Martin Kennedy has been released. As it was in facebook I don't really believe it but I've seen it more than once. Not from any credible source mind you. Take it with a grain of salt.

Can't see it happening unless the Broncos have someone of serious quality on the cards ready to sign, maybe after 2015.

8. McGuire
10. Kennedy

16. Gavet
17. Garbutt

I'm lovin' it.

I'm not even remotely a fan of Kennedy, but we'll be short on experienced props if he leaves. I'd imagine Parker will stay in the front row.

Two of those players spent big chunks playing Q Cup this year. WB will need to work some of his magic to make that rotation even remotely close to the better teams.

Hannant was a bad choice for bench prop. He's said himself he has a big motor and is not an impact player. If he wasn't starting and playing 60+ minutes total, he was wasted. Gavet, as an assumed cut-price replacement, is a much better bench weapon, suited to 20-30 minutes of rip & tear. Player Swap #1 is a definite winner in my books.

Unless Bennett wants to play Parker or Thaiday at prop though, we're still likely to need Kennedy starting, so I doubt the release rumours are true.

ive hopes that kennedy hits his straps in 2015, as i guess many of us do. rumour seems silly to me. cant see us releasing him to be honest.

I really think this is bullshit.

Kennedy should be jumping out of his skin for a chance to be coached by Bennett.

Nice. Looks promising. Runs hard, stands in the tackle and has a great offload

Couple of things from RLW mole section today.

WAYNE WILD ABOUT OATES
Broncos coach Wayne Bennett wasted no time re-signing rising 20-year-old Corey Oates until the end of 2017. Oates also got an upgrade for 2015 and is highly regarded by the master coach as a back-rower with real promise. Oates, who turns 21 this Monday won't return to full contact with the broncos until February after he underwent surgery on his right shoulder a fortnight ago. He also had left shoulder surgery the previous off-season

BRONCOS' UK RAID

Brisbane are preparing to raid the UK for one of their hottest junior talents. Dan Norman is a member of the England Youth Team and Broncos officials hope he can develop into a future Sam Burgess. Still only 16, Norman is a towering forward but capable of making his mark in the three-quarters, and a move Down Under at this age would have echoes of Gareth Widdop's progress - he also emigrated as a 16-year-old

I know he's mainly full of shit, but The Lurker today said the Tigers are looking at Maranta for us to free up space for Boyd.... Please be true!!

I just wonder how much cash Maranta would actually free up?

He's not great or anything, but he proved last season in games against the Warriors and Bulldogs that he's a handy enough depth option.
