I doubt he'd come back here to QLD.

If he was to return to the NRL, i think he'd more likely play for a Sydney team

Parra may still need a fullback at that time, but they were looking at him prior to his union switch anyway. However now that he's played FB in union I doubt he'd want to go back to centre in League so if Hayne comes back, he'll go somewhere else I think

If the Eels get help re-signing Hayne when the time comes, why the **** do we not get help re-signing Folau?

We're clearing enough cap space to make an offer to Folau if you ask me, if we can off-load Hannant, Kennedy, Barba, Hoffman, we should have a good chunk of cash available.

Folau > Boyd, in every aspect.

because the NRL have no interest in helping us in any way, shape or form

No question.

Got it in one.

That's why these 'discretionary' payments are BS.

Yeah this. Every club gets it or no club gets it. Why should Parra get special treatment just because they've spent $550k on Sandow, $450k on Norman, $450k on Lussick, etc?

Yep. This discretionary funding is bullshit. If the NRL want to go down this path the only way it will work is centrally contracted players. So if they want to get Izzy back (which they should) then the NRL sign him for say 1 mil a season for 3 years and then say to the other 16 clubs make your offers.

So he can negotiate with all clubs and say he reaches an agreement for 1 million a season somewhere he is on 2 million a season (which takes care of the threat from other codes) and it is a fair process.

This discretionary funding which seems like it will clubs like Parra to come to the NRL, cap in hand and they get to sign a superstar for limited cap space just because they pay overs for every else is ludicrous

From what i have seen recently he is too slow....he is 40, but we can dream! :bike:

From what I have heard his planning on retiring, BUT, well, what a fairytale it would be if he's decides to pull on our jersey for one final season back where it all started!

It'd be a fairytale but wouldn't happen. Thorn deserves to go out on top and not fade in to obscurity with a bad comeback like Mick DeVere.

Well said Morks. Still, is nice to dream about what might have been an do a bit of reminiscing, right? I still feel WB has a couple more signings surprises up he's sleeve though.

I still remember that bomb he put up for sailor to score and win the game back in 2000 against the Sharks.

Let's hope so, and let's hope they're props.

The thought of Parker playing starting prop for the 2015 season doesn't exactly fill me with optimism.

Can't recall off the top of my head GCB but might have a look on YouTube for it. His definitely got a huge highlights reel from all those years eh.

Indeed, it encourages people to pay overs.

What Brisbane should do is have Ben Hunt say "I'm going to play netball", hell Parker should too as should Milford, then the NRL will give us money to keep them in the game.....

I can't even say it with a straight face....

Since he first signed Lazarus, Bennett has always said that he doesn't like playing with a light engine room.

I think we need a forward leader. A first hit up man who bends the line that the others can follow and a bloke who can cut other forwards in half in a tackle.
