Broncos Player Movements and Rumours 2014

Since he first signed Lazarus, Bennett has always said that he doesn't like playing with a light engine room.

I think we need a forward leader. A first hit up man who bends the line that the others can follow and a bloke who can cut other forwards in half in a tackle.

If he is still the coach he is claimed to be, he's already got that prop in Kennedy.

Just not at the price. No joke, I'd take Ashton Sims on the cheap.

The problem is I don't think it's as clear cut as you make it out to be Sproj and I think the situation Gee and Griffin have put us in this regard makes it even worse especially on the money his on and that is something Bennett didn't have a say of being in that position. When Bennett recruited Lazarus he did so when the opportunity came around to pick up such a quality proven prop forward so he could not only build his forward pack around him but also show the young props coming through the side how it's done, this may be how Bennett see's the long term plan for the club. Kennedy at present(I'm not saying it's impossible) has yet to even come close to proving his capable of handling that sort of pressure and certainly not the amount his on, I want him at the club but honestly his not ready for that sort of responsibility and I'm not sure the price tag that comes with it justifies either, especially if some short term pain brings the opportunity of a real quality pickup. Tough decisions have to be made, even if they are for some unpopular. In the aftermath we shall se

Another season or two of Parker at prop while not absolutely ideal really won't hurt us that much longterm while we scout for a real pickup IMO.

GCB would like to hear your opinion on the rumored signing of Thorn. Do you think he`s form warrants/would provide enough cover for someone such as Kennedy (should he leave) until a topline prop can be signed for season 2016? Sure Thorn is getting on in age, but, he`s determination and passion cannot be doubted. We are certainly looking a bit light on in the front row and i just hope his (Bennett) has a plan b.

If he was 4-5 years younger I would definitely consider it, but I think his time in the NRL is over and I don't want to have memories of his career at the Broncos ending similar to Devere.

Because he just put in a half decent season for the first time in his career?

Pass .....

He wasn't that bad of a player for us but he will always be remembered for that mistake. I found him to be one of those guys who when on could make a difference and would try their heart out no matter what the situation was. His part in the 2009 revival goes unnoticed by most.

Never again. I was at Suncorp in 2008 and can never forgive or forget. He should never be allowed near a Broncos jersey again. ****, he shouldn't even be allowed to watch Broncos games on the telly unless he puts on a skirt, sticks his thumb in his mouth and loops a sign over his neck saying "I'm a big girl's blouse who can't hold a football for just one fucking hit up."
Moving to England is too good for that prick. They should send him to Antarctica for a couple of decades instead.

Such hate is justified ...... :takdir:

Gagai 2016?

The Broncos’ salary cap is stretched to breaking point for 2015 and something has to give.
Knights flyer Dane Gagai will be a Bronco in 2016 but the chances of him linking with the club in 2015 look remote.
For one, he is already under contract to Newcastle, who would want to be compensated handsomely if they let him go.
Secondly, the Knights hierarchy is in no mood to do the Broncos’ new coach any favours. And thirdly, the Broncos’ cap may not allow it.
That is why constant talk about Darius Boyd returning to Brisbane has those with a more intimate knowledge of the club’s cap constraints raising their eyebrows.

Man, I get where you're coming from but man...like...people deserve second chances...and Wayne is desperate for props. Man, I can't promise I'll be any good but man I'll give it my all, man.

What do you say Fourex, man?

Sad thing is that he's still better than Kennedy.

There puny power levels are around the same IMO.

Man vs Mate...

Battle of the ages.

It absolutely is justified. He started 2009 in QLD Cup and then when he did make it back to first grade he was still holding the ball with both points exposed and hitting the line like a crap-stained sack of helium. Anyone can make a mistake but if you make one as bad as that you'd think you'd be busting your balls to correct that part of your game and make it up to your team mates. Frankly I hope Brisbane succeeds from Australia just so we can deny Ashton Sims entry.

Rename the Broncos to the No-Ashtons club.
Come to think of it Ashton is a pretty shite name for a footballer. Makes me think of some rich preppy kid at a New England college swanning around with a pink sweater tied around his shoulders and attending poetry readings.

Blah blah blah, I was there too that night, had the long walk back to the train station alongside the fuckwit Storm supporters. The game was lost when Billy Slater denied Hannant a try with an illegal leg slide. When Hannant went over, it was the only time I'd ever seen Bennett jump off his chair and fist pump. Tragedy.

I can understand the hate, I really can, but I just don't agree. Sims isn't a top line prop and never was going to be, but he plays the game hard, aggressive, and with heart. We'd be able to sign him for a Metallica t-shirt.
