Good on them, great idea rewarding the team for a good season, sending them somewhere they can let their hair down, have some fun because really, who cares, what happens in Cancun stays in Cancun - I do feel sorry for them having courier mail reporters following them everywhere they go - bet the reporter had a good time though

Man, that is really is news! A group of men are asked to leave a bar in a party town and they do so peacefully!

Thanks, News. Now I'm really informed.

I've been to Senor Frog's, and there's no way I'd be jumping into the lagoon. Alligators be swimmin' around there!

Plenty of underage girls swimming around the dance floor too... Dangerous waters.

I think it's ridiculous that the "journalist" checked the security logs. The resorts are pretty well controlled, to the point where they don't let people staying at other resorts in.

Let them have a bit of fun.

This is not even news-worthy. They're in the off-season having a bit of fun overseas. As long as they don't do anything illegal!

That story is a joke.

Good on them for getting sloshed on their holidays. They are in Cancun FFS!

Checking hotel security logs for complaints against them just shows how desperate the courier mail are for a story.

What rubbish!

Can you honestly blame the players who hate the media?...

In saying that I guess in the olden days you got paid no way near as much...

In all seriousness, at what point does this become stalking?
What's next for the "journalist"? Searching through their rubbish for used condoms?

He/she is probably doing that now.

I'd be more interested in reading about a report to why Broncos management think it's ok to condone drinking massive amounts of alcohol, paid for by the club just because it's the off season.

Nashy I believe it's pretty much the same as the office Christmas party. It's just that the Broncos can afford to send their players to Cancun.

Besides - as clice'd as this sounds - these boys live in the fish bowl for most of the year, let them have some fun for a couple of weeks!

Pathetic journalism from the courier mail. What a rag of a newspaper.

Staff from Senor Frog's described the scene to The Sunday Mail, saying the group had videotaped their antics.
"They stripped (to their underwear) and started jumping off the balcony," day manager Gustavo Castillo said.

I have no idea why this day manager gives a damn all of a sudden.

To put Senor Frog's into perspective, they don't check IDs and when I was there they were holding a wet t-shirt competition. Staff/MCs actively encouraged girls to flash the crowd.
You pay your $44 at the door and they hand you a yard glass. You get free refills all night, whether it be beer or spirits. They also have women walking around with whistles that pour shots down your throat.

They also had an arm-wrestling competition, in which my mate joined in.
Given we were all quite a few beers in, he stripped down to his boxers (Aussie flag boxers...he was showing off thinking people would like him more being an Aussie - the crowd just shouted "U S A, U S A!!!" instead) and then the loser was dumped into a pool via a slide which is basically a fenced off part of the lagoon. A lot of people were just in their undies.

This is a party orientated club, in a party orientated city. They've done nothing wrong in the context of it all.

Nashy, does it actually say anywhere that the Broncos club paid for this trip? Honest question because I can't find it.
If they did, they probably wanted the boys to go out and be boys as far away as possible. Either Vegas or Cancun are great for that, if you don't have weedy journalists following your every move.

I don't know the payment scenario with these offseason trips. I think players may be able to elect to have money taken out of their salary to pay their way, or they can just pay it themselves. I doubt the club sends them on these trips in addition to their salaries though (salary cap anyone?).

Honestly I'm as big a tight arse about player behaviour as anyone, and like Nashy I don't know if I'm comfortable with a week long or more piss up just because the season's over...BUT, FFS, they're adults it's their choice and they've done no harm on this occasion.

Good to see the wonderful owners of this great club continuing to look for all the dirt they can on it.

I'm with Coxy and Nashy in that there is some concern about the potential for things to get out of hand and these days Rugby League players need to be looked after in that respect, but with regards to this particular story, I mean c'mon News. Checking security logs, etc, as guppy said that's just stalking, not journalism.

As I recall the club has sent a chaperone with them so he should make sure things don't get out of hand.

**** the Courier Mail. They are in another country ffs, a country that has no idea about who these guys are.

Courier Mail is meant to be a Broncos supporter or something, from now on, they should not let any Courier Mail jorunalist into games, let alone dressing rooms unless things start to change.

**** TSM. A gutter Sunday tabloid. Why do I subscribe outside of footy season?

From what i got told the players decided as a group to head there and paid for it themselves. They chose to go as a large group so as to look out for each other and to bond. And it couldnt of been to much of a party considering one of them has been able to jump on facebook regulary lol.

No danger what so ever. the players chose to go as a group the club said ok we will support it and send someone to watch you.
