Broncos positivity thread

Foordy please share some things you’re optimistic about

skip to the last paragraph of my previous post

We will be competitive once again and we will have the ability to be very proactive in the market come 2022 with no more paying players contracts who have left us as well as Maccas and/or Milfs impending departures/pay cuts

We will have a young and proactive CEO and potentially have Bellamy on the way

This is a chance to completely reset our playing style and I am looking forward to that. Simple game plans carried out with energy and heart rather than a bunch of confused looking school kids who drop their heads as though they are being yelled at.

Speaking of the Don. How come he’s left the Storm but he hasn’t started with us? You’d think it would be the sort of job you’d want to start ASAP and make changes before we start signing the Albert Kelly and David Meads of the world for 5 years with player options for 3 of them.

This is why it’s hard to be positive. The changes needed to be dramatic and done far earlier than they have been. If Donaghy can come in and get rid of White and Newscorp can go under so Morris can **** off too and Lockyer can move into a different role actual changes might occur and that would be amazing.

We aren’t getting Bellamy though.

With Seibold gone, players no longer being able to hide behind blaming everything on him. I'm hoping this will get the players to mature faster and develop the right attitude.

Pretty sure he has some contract in place keeping him unavailable until jan

literally no-one ever said 2020 wasn't a bad season, it was by far the worst season ever from a Broncos POV, it was downright unbronco-like.

what i was taking exception to is being told i don't understand rugby league because i don't think like you do. you (and many others around here) seem to not only be the glass is completely empty, but also smashed into a million pieces kind of guys ... whereas i'm more your glass is half full person.

as for my understanding of rugby league (especially NRL era rugby league) there have been countless times when teams have had diabolical seasons only to be challenging for the top 8 (sometimes even the top 4) the following year. (sometimes even without making any major signings). of course, there are also the teams that back up diabolical seasons with diabolical seasons. only time will tell which category we fall into.

you seem to believe, we have zero chance of that we have zero chance of doing anything in 2021. i don't like it but i guess it is your right to think that way.

I on the other hand believe that our roster is nowhere near as bad as it is made out to be. a change in the coaching team, lead by a man that bleeds maroon and gold, a man that will be able to inspire his troops, and instils confidence and the right attitude, a man that knows what a winning Broncos culture looks and feels like. (and hopefully finds a way to cut down those damn injuries).

we will be competitive in 2021 ... just watch
It wasn't just diabolical though, it was literally all time terrible, up there amongst the worst seasons by any club in recent history. The clubs who did have comparatively bad seasons like the Chargers and Magpies were actually booted from the competition in the aftermath of those seasons.

I honestly don't think that's losing perspective here, it's factually what occurred in raw numbers this year and if Walters can turn that around in just 12 months he honestly will have pulled off one of the modern coaching miracles of our time. I'd kill for that to be the case, I hope like hell it will be, but I don't think you can be hard up on people for having very serious reservations and doubts about how likely that is.

I am all about the Kevolution!

I love that his number one priority is defense, and I'm sure he's going to have us coming off our line with conviction and unity.

I think he's going to install some structure to our attack - remember what that is? I think he has a good grasp of what his troops can handle, and he's going to scheme up a simple but flexible and far more entertaining brand of attacking footy.

I love our young core - Carrigan, Hass, Coates, Farnworth, Staggs - and I look forward to them becoming Broncos legends of the future.

And I look forward to the impending Waltpocalypse - a period of unrivalled domination that sees us win back-to-back-to-back premierships.

Okay, the last one might be a tad too optimistic, but only a tad.

I get why people want him but for mine this is actually a positive. Kevvie can forge his own path without having the Melbourne maestro looking over his shoulder every 5 minutes and bringing the spectre of salary cap shenanigans and neck-breaking wrestling.

Ideally, assuming we want a great ex-coach in a coaching director type role, Benny will be ready to transition into that type of gig in two or three years when Walters has found his groove as a head coach and the board have all fucked right off. Grandpa Wayne giving our players all the self-confidence they need (and occasionally telling them "don't kick the ball, just don't fucken do it mate") and getting more young talent here while Walters has our halves carving teams apart off the back of rampaging forwards. Phwoar that's the Broncos I want to see.

Dearden?

Having Bennett involved in the club in any way would mean having Allan, Su’a, Capewell and Harry Grant signed yesterday.

Border opens on 1 December. BHQ roadtrip? Operation: Bring Back Benny should be a goer.

I honestly reckon Milf will kill it this year. Between having an actual coach and an actual halves partner and not being made to play fullback on a fucked hamstring it's all going to come together. Same with Haas and our forwards in general, Kevvie knows how to use a bench and should have them fired up and charging hard.

With White gone I expect our days of giving out our players on money back guarantee deals are done too.

It's all trending up.
I said the same last year. I just don't think Milford has the drive to be a gun player. Too reliant on things happening for him than making things happen

People around here seem to be falling off of him in recent times, and to be honest I really don't understand why.
Because he hasn't done a harry grant. Most people think harry is a overnight success and broncos fans expect that from him aswell. Harry did his time in cup and has had a chance to learn from the best , dearden hasn't had that luxury.
I hope kevie can quicken up the process but the kid needs time.
