Bennett Says Go Rate Yourself

Brisbane captain Corey Parker has credited coach Wayne Bennett's brutally honest ratings system for instilling accountability within the playing group.
The Broncos are cruising at the top of the NRL ladder on the back of six straight wins, including an unbeaten stretch through the Origin period for the first time since 1999.
Parker told Big League how Bennett's requirement for every player to rate their weekly performance has driven the team to greater heights in 2015.
"It (the ratings) gives you a sense of pride, but the other thing it does is reveal the real honesty that everyone's got", Parker said.
"Everyone who plays professional sport is their own hardest marker and you don't really need too much more from the coaches if you can sit there in front of your peers and they can judge you honestly and you can judge yourself honestly.
"This enables us to talk about what we can work on individually and as a side, but more to the point you are pretty honest about your own assessment."
Parker believes fellow Brisbane forward and Queensland team-mate Sam Thaiday is one player who has particularly thrived under the tutelage of Bennett.
"Sam has been great this year," he said. "It might have just been a change that was needed in terms of coaching staf. We all know the sort of player Sam can be and has been for a period of time, but he's taken his game to a new level this year.
"On the back of that I think we are seeing great results. I know Sam has been negotiating with Brisbane for a fair while, but hopefully he can stay and I can still get to play footy with him," said Parker.
"He is a great guy and he brings a lot to the football side."
