Is Coates supposed to be back at training already?

Also Foordy I wish I could be as positive as you about this but Bellamy rarely misses out on players he chases.

Coates is good as gone. Saw him on the GC recently and he basically said the Broncos are a mess. No one bought in to seibold "some people have all the theory but can't get the player buy in" is along the lines of what he said. Asked him if he was resigned and he said no and will see what happens.

Broncos are done.

Just another example of why we need a clean out if you ask me.

Young big headed nobodies who think they know everything and expect to be paid overs eventho they've achieved fark all in the game, always looking to blame somebody else and taking the easy way out rather than stepping up, digging in and giving it everything for your club.

*Edit* No loyalty, no pride, no respect.

I think it's more to do with our admin and staff having no fucking clue what they are doing.

Why would any of our players feel loyalty to the club though? The club has released about 15-20 odd players over the past 2-3 years, including 2 coaches. The club shows no loyalty, so why would the players.

Why would you want to stick around with a club with a rookie coach, no ceo, and the worst recruitment and retention commitee in the comp.

This doesn’t sound true, no league player other than DCE can use words like that or put sentences like that together.

Yep. Kev and Donny (hopefully) have a lot of work to do to improve the clubs perception. Until then players will avoid coming and not see much reason to stay.

Just because "fans" have this perception of the club doesn't mean players do

You’re lying.

Coates is probably gone but there is no way you had this conversation with him. On the very slight chance this is true then the halfwit can **** off because if he is dumb enough to share this with some random dickhead he runs into in public then we don’t need him around the club.

You don’t think an unproven coach, no confirmed CEO, and a wooden spoon has damaged the perception of the club?

All the old boys talking shit about the club, Wayne throwing shots at the club, ex players talking down about the club, Fifitas mum bagging the club.

I do think Kev and a good CEO are one moderately good season away from fixing the perception, and I’m optimistic we will have a moderately good season, but there’s no question the club is in the middle of a PR crisis.

Those were honestly my thoughts exactly. I think he already knows he's out the door so doesn't care. Definitely young and dumb though to have been so open about it.

Good for Xavier, who wouldn't want to play under the best coach in the game, in a team full of quality players.

He's gonna have a great career in Melbourne. Lose Addo-Carr and sign the next best thing, it's just good business.

And if he doesnt fit there system he will be out after 12 months

Just my thoughts but at the end of the day and with out any disrespect. He's a winger. We need a spine that can steer the team around and make those clutch plays. A forward pack that wants to grind out tough matches. We are so far from needing wingers to finish set pieces because we don't really seem to have any. That being said hes a great kid and I hope he doesnt leave :noooice:

Xavier is just the beginning, I'd wager. Our current top 17 will look drastically different before Kev can claim to be ready to make a run at the premiership, if the club even gives him that much rope before he gets the flick too. The club has lost its shine completely and the players will demonstrate that themselves with their one action of walking out the door and being replaced with nothing but nuffies.

"Let them go, **** 'em" I hear you say, which is fair enough. If nothing else it will guarantee we lose the toxic turds stinking up the place, but the club is now officially stuck between a rock and a hard place. We need to earn our own respect back in order to attract quality players, but in order to do that we need quality players. it's the catch-22 that torpedoes the titans, small T.

Basically we have been reduced to needing to pay massive overs for 8/10 at best players in the hope they miraculously win a premiership and wipe the shit stains clean, and do you really see our recruitment team pulling that off? We. Are. Fucked. For a generation.

I'd get a feel for what coates is doing here but if there's even a slight sniff that he is playing us or considering leaving I'd offer him 350,000 and give home until 2021 return to accept it. If not it gets pulled, tell him he won't be getting release (although will definetly release early for the right player swap, just don't tell him for bargaining power) and tell him he is definetly no guarantee to stay in 1st grade (which he shouldn't be - I think Kennar is better in every department except aerial threat at this stage, Coates is getting picked on potential at the moment ). I'd drop him after he signs with a rival.

This young guys are kidding themselves. They have just won us our 1st wooden spoon. Who th3 **** are they to hold the club to ransom bcos of the publicity wearing our jersey brings them...

I think that players as a general rule don't give two shits about who the CEO is. it likely doesn't even factor into their thinking, unless they are worried about whether they will be paid or not, which isn't an issue when talking to a club like the Broncos.

on Kevie. they could look at him as an unproven coach ... or they could look at it as being coached by a legend of the game, who has won 5 premierships, multiple Origin and Test series as a player and won Origin as a coachso he knows how to win.

on the wooden spoon, they could look at it and see an off year, riddled with injuries and COVID issues under a poor performing coaching team that are now gone. IMO, one outlier year doesn't alter the perception of the club too much. This is a club that has always been in the conversation for the top rather than the bottom. now if the 2020 season becomes a pattern, then that is a different story. Hell, players these days have big enough ego's they probably think they can turn things around on their own.

What players would see is club that has the best facilities in the league, a roster that has some talented young players (although a few tweaks are needed) in a city with a lower cost of living than either Sydney or Melbourne.

Honestly just **** him off. He wants to play these shit games of making sure he is seen having coffee with rivals then just get rid of him. The culture is shot and the last thing we need is entitled brats like him that think the owe the club nothing and deserve the world after a handful of tries scored and triple that amount let in.
