I know its early but might as well, I am really looking forward to 2022, with some more signings, if we can covert the target players, I think it can be good.

Get the football department strong ( looks like it is thanks to our "Don" (DAVE) and let Kevvie focus on coaching

I do wonder how Gagai would go at Fullback at this stage of his career.

Earlier on in his career he had the problem of being a massive hog with the ball, but his passing has improved drastically over the last few years. His work rate is great, his running game is great, his hands are great. Wouldn't be against signing him and having him and Farnworth battle it out for the #1 jersey.
You may have noticed I left an angry reaction… I love the ideas it’s the fact that you and many other people are still trying to force the Farnworth at fullback thing. I hate him more and more he graces the field, he is not ready or adequate in any skills apart from fitness to play fullback

Just a question if we get gagai will he be a starting in centres.
Cause if we get kodi or S.johnson surely Lee and Staggs will be centres
unless Gagai will play on the wing ?

I'll be really happy to get
1. Gagai
2. Capewell
3. Sua
4. Hodgson
5. Kodi/ S.Johnson
I’d love kodi to but I think we’re at that stage where the first step will be Staggs at 6 then hit the market

Yes I imagine there is a very good chance we will get both. Lodge and TPJ leaving means Carrigan can go to prop and Su'A into the second row with Capewell at lock. I like this a lot.
No. No. No. No. No.
capewell is playing on a fucken edge not a chance are we playing him at lock

I know your pushing this Capewell at lock thing but let’s say we sign
Gagai
Capewell
Su’A
Finucane
I can’t see us getting Hodgson anymore and if we sign Gagai we’re waving goodbye to Kodi cause Staggs will definitely be in 6 unless they want to play Brenko on a wing. Cause Gagai ain’t coming here to play on the wing

Lee could very well be just a depth signing

I doubt we sign 3 backrow forwards

Gagai and Capewell both had that random seperate midweek flight to Brisbane. Possibly both done deals.

Not sure how much cap that would leave but a good hooker will round out the signings perfectly and Sua on a cheapish deal would be a cherry on top.

1. Niu
2. Farnworth
3. Gagai
4. Lee
5. Cobbo
6. Staggs
7. Reynolds
8. Carrigan
9. Hodgson
10. Haas
11. Capewell
12. Su’a
13. Flegler

14. Paix
15. Piakura
16. Robati / Riki
17. Bullimor / Kennedy

Still would be short a ball playing lock and fullback.

If we pull off some of these signings it’s going to be funny seeing the reaction from all these Shitney arseholes who keep claiming we have no cap space despite having a dozen off contract, including our highest paid player, & having released or lost another half dozen this year.

We aren't interested in Finucane, he is asking too much and wants too long, he'll be at the Storm, Dogs or Sharks.

Read has reported that Finucane has lowered his asking price and reduced the length to 3 years, since he had no interest at his original asking price (was asking 4 years @ 800k per year).

thinks that we could be interested now

Fair enough. I know Finucane is a good player but we are very well versed in knowing the dangers of sinking lots of money into injury prone older players.

Funicane would be a huge signing for club culture. The guy would bring immeasurable benefit to the team off the field and if you get him on the field for his average 20 games a year it’s almost a bonus.

800k for 4 years is a joke but 600 for 2 - 550 for 3

this kind of ball park figures would really begin to make you consider it.

Funicane is exactly what a broncos forward used to be, before the last of that breed went extinct when Gillett retired.

But I doubt we will get him for that. I know he is what we need but he is also what the Tigers, Dogs need and the Sharks and Cows will also be interested. We cannot get into a bidding war on him, this is my point.

Agreed.

I personally would not have gagai on my 'essential' radar, and think it would be wiser to dedicate some of the cash elsewhere.

I personally do not see staggs working as a 6 and think he remains best suited at centre.

I dont think it is likely we will get hodgson, so i think it is important for the balance of our spine that we get a player that can ball play/create opportunities for his team mates, which staggs being primarily a power runner of the ball has not demonstrated that he can do.

I also dont think niu or other fullback options have demonstrated enough ball skills to be that player in the spine either.

I'm not sold on Capewell, he won't be cheap being a player currently in the Penrith team and also a QLD origin regular but at the same time he's not exactly a game breaker

Just doesn't seem like a good deal for us
