Hoskings wants to go back to knights 😭
Talk about throwing a career away. He's been waiting for an opportunity there for years. Player of the year in reserve grade and still no chance. What's the bet he gets 1 or 2 games but is a sacrificial lamb in a badly beaten side, never to be seen again.
Sure he isn't 1st pick at the broncos but Walters has shown he's willing to give him a shot and if you work hard you will get a shot at being a regular (jensen and paliasia, even Gamble and Walters to lesser extents, say hello). He won't look anywhere near as good outside of Clifford compared to Reynolds as well. Not a knock on him, he's a great hole runner, but there will be no hole running outside of the knights halves haha...

Good luck to him, honestly, but I just feel like it is such a waste surely there's something else at play here, bit please don't say it's over something outside of family bcos it won't be worth it...

Surely Melbourne even would be interested, they have nothing in the second row next year other than Sims and he's not great anymore.

What a totally bizarre decision. Why leave a club that is clearly on the way up that gave you your debut to go to a club going nowhere where you won’t be first choice anyway?

Really odd.

He's not on an NRL contract at Brisbane, he's on train/trial deal if Knights have offered him a top 30 deal he has to take it so he can stop being a chippie and have a crack at full time football.

Yeah it’s the perfect outcome for us. A guy gets a shot, plays out of brain because he’s been waiting so long for a debut, puts himself in the shop window and earns himself an NRL deal at a club that needs home long term more than we do. If we wanted to keep him I’m sure we would’ve got first shot but even if not, we got great value out of him for very little cost, and it will only encourage more good players to come be depth options at the broncos.

It’s exactly what Melbourne have previously done so well and why they have great depth - Hynes, Lee, King spring to mind.

To me it’s a sign that our system is starting to work.

Its now just up to Ikin to keep finding these brilliant depth options.

Surely though there are other clubs interested in him? I mean any of the Tigers, Storm, Warriors, Dogs, etc would be interested in him as he is better than some of their starters let alone depth for next year.

Of course he does. Thats common sense. I never said he should take a train and trial over a top 30 contract, if I did can you point it out for me? This is for next year. It's obvious broncos will offer him a top 30 as well or you think the broncos will offer a player they just kept as 19th man in a full strength team, who also played 2 starting games they will not offer him a top 30 despite multiple spots opening up and him being cheap?

I do think people can get carried away after a couple of decent performances. He looks a pretty solid player, but we dont know how he will go in the grind of NRL footy week after week. I think there are others who would do a decent job from ISC like Zac has. I've mentioned him before, but Brendan Frei is one i think would do well. Pity the Cowboys grabbed him!

Be nice if we could keep him, but he probably need to take any chance of a decent contract he gets while his stock is high. Its good for us though as @theshed was saying about it shows our system is working and we will get good depth, even short term because we are showing there are opportunities here.

Yeah I don't see Broncs letting Tesi go this year anyway seeing how our bench depth at FB is depleted.

If he stays and fights, I'm not even sure he won't be fullback round 1 next year.

With the dramas the storm are having, wonder if we can let them have Tesi so we can bring in Walsh this year.
