Walters:

“We haven’t had a discussion as yet about Munster. That is something that is down the track. We will worry about it next year, but we have a game to worry about first and our focus is on the Storm. Naturally every club would be interested in him, but my only interest is the Storm."
“There are two or three guys up there and Munster is one of the best players in the competition. He had a great Origin series and he has backed it up since for Melbourne. As a player and coach, you want to face these guys and see what sort of plans you can come up with to limit the damage he does.”
“Like all teams, we have to pressure him when we can. If you cut him, he bleeds red blood, or it might be maroon blood for Cameron ... he is a good player and we have to limit his opportunities by cutting down his time."
“He is hard to track from fullback. We have spoken about him in our meetings and it’s now about getting out there and doing the job.”

Walters:

“I expect Oates’ retention to happen in the next few weeks. He has had a great season with us, one of his best in his time at the club, so we are looking forward to getting him back here next year and hopefully a few more years after that.”

Good. One club player.

Twitter said it was about us beating the Dolphins to re-sign one of our gun juniors.

Okay, that was about Karl Oloapu.

Oloapu’s new management recently asked the Broncos for an immediate release to join the Dolphins in 2023, but Brisbane development bosses flatly rejected it. He is signed to the Broncos until the end of 2025. Oloapu will be promoted to a development contract next year.

Good. He's been talked about a little (a stress a little) on here by the likes of @1910 about the Broncos essentially being hitched to his wagon over Grey.

We have a "classy" (SIC) junior 5/8 tied up until 2025 and are intending to promote him to a development contract next year. His name is Karl Oloapu.

Dolphins have tried to poach him and his management have sought a release on that basis.

We have refused to release him.

Good, he looks a good 6. Lots of skills and pretty big to boot. Think Mozer and Oloapu would do ok as 13s if needed.

From the article:

Oloapu’s new management recently asked the Broncos for an immediate release for the silky playmaker to join the Dolphins in 2023, but Brisbane development bosses flatly rejected that request.

player managers are scum sucking weasels ... another new manager trying to get us to release a player, so they can get their pound of flesh

Some footage from last year.

Ironically for them he's a Dolphins junior. Had a great year this year at Norths- him and Hinchey were terrific for Norths.

Developed a great pass and work with his forwards this season like Hinchey and Te Kura.
