If he wants to come back 750k. It needs to be low enough that he releases the pressure on himself and it needs to be low enough that we don’t incur too much of a risk for his ass performances over the last 12 months. If he really wants to be here and get his career back on track then he would come with that offer without a second thought. Comes back to his mates, team on the up. Get a year on an edge with Reyno with heaps of guidance or get on an edge with Ezra, Cobbo (centre) and Oates with Reece and Reyno playing both sides of the ruck and joining in to make that one potent edge.

Dave is a luxury buy. We are being used by his manager.

Dave is a mercenary. A downhill runner. He doesn't make the team better. He just buys investment properties.

We are being sold on potential...It's like spending your lotto winnings when you buy a ticket.

if he comes back on a massive pay cut then hell yeah! But I doubt it
 
while I think Dave is the exact opposite kind of player than what we need (expensive, shirks the tough stuff, inconsistent), I would take almost anything if it meant Riki was moved out of the second row.
 
Talent aside, imagine trying to manage a workplace with Haas, Fifita, Walsh, Staggs, and Cobbo. Just being in the same room as them must have the same impact on your brain has huffing lead paint.

Though if Seibold was too smart for them to understand, Kev just may be the perfect coach after all

I'm pretty sure Raiders are trying to sign both of them, so the fact that he hasn't taken it yet says something.

They both went down for the tour.
 
Fifita has to be one of the most frustrating players in the game.

Some games he is the most destructive player in the games ... then there are those other times (which are the majority these days) where he gives off Milford vibes. i.e. now he has his million dollar contract, he just wants to be comfortable and not put in the work required to continue being the best.

IF the media reports are correct (and you need to take them with a grain of salt), then it suggests we might be able to get him cheaper than either the Raiders or Titans.

he would be a massive risk. but if you are going to take a chance on him it should only be a short term (2 years max), reasonably priced (no more than 750k per year) contract.

Milford vibes is exactly my thoughts!
 
Nup. Not worth it, about as dedicated to performing on field as Milford, absolute cap trap if we sign him for anything more than 600k.
 
We don’t have the core leadership, strong culture and tested on field systems in place to make this work. If he went somewhere like Penrith, parra or Melbourne he would be nearly unstoppable.. but it would require a ton of work on his part and something tells me he’s not up for it.
Hard pass.
 
I'd be prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, but not for more than $600-700k. Like others, I'm concerned about his attitude and whether he fits the culture we're growing too.

Reece might have left for money and opportunity but you can not deny that he gave his all, every game for the Warriors. Can't say the same for Dave.

It may well be that he just doesn't feel like he fits at the Titans...that he's a Bronco at heart and just can't really get up for any other team. And he lights up the comp the way that only he can, once he's again in a Broncos jersey. Imagine a right side of Reyno, Fifi, Staggs and *insert winger here*...there's points galore!! I'm thinking Reyno's smarts in using Staggs/Cobbo last year...if the defence slides he goes to Kotoni 1-on-1, if they jam in he goes wide to Cobbo...now imagine Fifi inside all of that too...it's drool worthy!

It's a risk though, and IF we go down that path, I have faith the club will value him as such, with contingencies in place. We really are weak in 2nd row depth, it could be an amazing signing...or a flop. I have faith Ikin will get it right.
 
I wonder if we’ll make a pitch to sign Shaylee as well. She’s already up here playing for Wynnum with half of the Broncos girls and the others she’s played with at Tweed, Indigenous All-Stars or Jillaroos

While she still plays for the Dragons until present, as soon as Dave signed to the Gold Coast she moved up to Tweed.
