Agree, Daves like another Milford. All potential, does some flashy things but really cant compete at that level for a full 80 minutes. Would have loved to have him back but I liked what I saw from Riki last week. Theres no indication that the broncos even offered Dave anything, they only "expressed interest". My guess is they didn't even table him an offer and just had some preliminary discussions to workout his price. Hopefully we hang onto Haas and Carrigan now with the leftover money. Marina will hopefully be like for like replacement of Herbie for a fraction of the price. Good time to be a Broncos supporter.I would have loved to have Dave back but he had to have an attitude of wanting to come back, like Walsh.
Excellent player but he just doesn't have that killer competitive drive.

Interestingly Andrews Johns said the other day that Anthony Milford has a month left to save his NRL career. He questioned his fitness in the trial game, and said his defence was ordinary and let in a few tries. Its early days but the Dolphins may be looking past him with Isaiya Katoa.
I still think some on here are rewriting history because their salty on missing out on David Fifita. Its been suggested that Fifita has characters issues and we are trying to bring in a new culture. The incident in Bali happened three years ago. I'm happy to acknowledge Fifita lack of consistency but the Titans dilemma in the halves and the pressure of the contract are probably contributing factors. Time for him to show what he's made of this year though, no more excuses.
I dunno, thought his involvement was about on par with his last few years. He looked really good round 1.
Yes on both fronts, which is why clubs have to be smart. Clubs can't just front load one player to free up $500,000 and expect them to put in the following year. For the Broncos they'll have to be mindful of that as well as having enough money to upgrade players like Deine Mariner, Ezra Mam, Reece Walsh, Blake Mozer, Xavier Willison etc. if they live up to expectations. If we are putting the cue in the rack for a while with recruitment, can we then use the extra cap space to front load contracts so we can pay players **** all later? Or does that open us up to players wanting to leave all of a sudden later on?
I reckon he burned all the bridge’s when he went public at the end of season and said that he wants to learn from Premiership winning coach & that he’s not from Brisbane so, he’s not close with any of the Broncos players or have attachments to the city. What about bringing Bullemor home? He looked good last week but interesting to see if he would be happy to still be a benchy because that is likely what he would be.

I would say, it’s best in our interests to concentrate in-house and see how to develop our mob, look to extend them long term.

Another example of a player a lot of us were disappointed at losing initially and then has turned out to be pretty average at the new club. He's only played 13 games for Manly since he left and has hardly set the world on fire. I can't say I have followed his career much since he left though, maybe he was injured or something.I wouldn't say not the Bull as depth or in rotation - he has some good qualities. But its not going to be easy and or cheap to get him from Manly.
I think that boat has sailed. We would be paying up to 400k inc transfer fees.
Manly tried to play Bullemor on an edge and he was exposed woefully in the position. He really struggled to find his footy after that and the club went into free fall in the back-end.Another example of a player a lot of us were disappointed at losing initially and then has turned out to be pretty average at the new club. Doesn't seem to have been much different to losing Zac Hosking to Penrith. I'd go as far as saying that Hosking has more of an impact in his few games for us than Bullemore did.
In the long run, I don't think we miss either of them.
Now Flegler is going to be a different story I think.
Yep, not saying he won't have a much better season, BUT, let's imagine we have a fully fit team, who does he replace?Manly tried to play Bullemor on an edge and he was exposed woefully in the position. We're only one game in but he was one of the Sea Eagles best on the weekend.

Our bench would likely be
Flegler, Paix, Hetherington, Taupau
Extended
Palasia
Piakura
Willison
Bayliss
Hetherington had a pretty good year last year. Possibly he pushes Taupau out, but that is debatable.
So maybe he covers origin and injuries, but I don't see him as a regular. Maybe if he had stayed he could have cemented a spot, but certainly not one what I've seen since he left.
Next year maybe he leapfrogs Willison and/or Piakura and with Flegler and Palasia leaving, seems more likely to receive regular game time.
Taupua has been awesome and no way should be dropped for Hethrington. If anyone drops out it should be Palasia.
