Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2023

I agree with you here, if we've got a hooker that can go 60-80 have a game breaker as the 14. Have Kobe fill in the 9 for 10 minutes if needed. Ezra and Tesi would play this role well out of the stocks we currently have.
I haven't seen anything from Paix yet to suggest he's that player and Walters isn't that player either.
I don't see any other position than 14 for Tesi, unfortunately. I genuinely think he's capable of killing it there if he accepts his limitations and strengthens his defence. I would love to see him given a go. If he wants to be part of a first grade team.

i'll be booing haas (unless it's joan) if/when he runs out in broncs colours next year

I've been REALLY impressed with Peek's finish to the season. He is a genuine shot to find his way into the 17 in round 1. I wouldn't even be surprised if he is starting. Even the last game he played in the NRL, despite one bad drop (he wasn't alone there, he looked ready for the NRL.

I'd seriously consider this round 1:
1. Walsh
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Cobbo
5. Farnworth
6. Mam
7. Reynolds
8. Flegler
9. Smoothy
10. Jensen
11. Capewell
12. Piakura
13. Carrigan

14. Paix
15. Hetherington
16. Robati
17. Riki

I still doubt Haas will be there and this way, we are breaking up the error magnets that are Kotoni and Cobbs.

@Big Pete will be in delirium about this signing

Hopefully this kills off the Macca rumours??
The 1001th time was the charm.

I'd be interested to see what the full-time contract means, whether that's the NRL squad or development squad.

I don't want to blow smoke and give you guys the impression that he'll transform the team and should be in the starting team. However I believe he deserved an opportunity and I've been impressed at how he's continued to build his game outside of the NRL system.

If he can continue to improve he'll be worth his weight and he's just coming into that age where dummy halves tend to flourish.

I always think about players like Matt Ballin who took years to develop, but once he hit 24 he was one of the best dummy halves in the competition.

Keep in mind, the last time I was on the same page with the club as far as QRL prospects went it was Myles Taueli and I wouldn't blame anyone for forgetting he was even in the NRL squad 4 years ago.

Thats an insult to Herbie who was the best centre at the club by a fair margin before his injury

not really he has all the attributes to be a great winger and it's his preferred side .

Myles was a very good player, but huge trouble off the field.

It was on the local Gold Coast news where they implied he was leaving Burleigh for a chance with the Broncos. A journo shared the report on Twitter which I just stumbled on
The rumour is he wants to get on train and trial, not that the Broncos are interested in him, am I right?

Apparently I'm Herbie's biggest detractor around here and even I'm starting him at centre next season.

All we need is solid and a good pass off the ground, both of which he already is / does, so the rest is a bonus. I too think he is at the perfect age to hit the ground running.
