Shibasaki would be great as someone to target.

Cows backrow stocks are getting up there with Nanai, Luki and Bateman... although John Bateman has yet to finish a contract that he's signed.

Jamal was a big prospect coming through and has barely been given a chance in first grade... he was in the broncos system, but switched to cows to stay in Townsville, but I think that was as an 18yr old so makes sense to stay somewhere he's comfortable and develop.

He's almost 20yr now so maybe us having Gem could see him willing to move... especially with the complete lack of backrowers... he potentially comes here and is an automatic selection in the 17, or maybe even starting.
There was even an article released last year that said he wants to play with his brother one day.

I didn't realise that he was actually off contract end of this year, I thought it would've been a 2027 onwards type of deal... broncos should 100% be all over that.

He has a lot of promise, but has barely played first grade... so realistically he shouldn't be breaking the bank, which is exactly what we need when it comes to backrow signings.

Make it ****ing happen @Scanlon!!

He's a victim this year of being at his third Cup team in three years, Pride are terrible and lost the whole team that came first last year.

Hopefully he can get a combination with Duffy and he can unlock his attack that way. Pride is playing him on the edge, then middle then bench.

Hard gig at the moment when he should be pushing for more NRL. He was sensational last year at the Cutters and is coming up to that area of Cup games where you should be playing more NRL.

Has Bateman, Nanai and O'Donnell in front of him this year... Harrison getting picked on the bench in front of him.

Luki back next year.

That seems like a lot of bodies in front of a guy that should be pushing for NRL games, but has basically been unsighted.

Can you see him making a move for his own sake... and do you see broncos making a play given they were obviously interested in him before he stayed in Townsville.

Happy Monday!

Should be simple for the NRL to justify not losing one of the games biggest stars to retirement, I'm sure it will work out. It would (or will be) funny to have Reynolds on a ~million less per season than Dylan Brown though.

Craddock has gone the other side of the argument with an article talking about how clubs think there should be better cap exemptions for veterans, says that the ageing greats of our game, like Reynolds, should be encouraged to play on, rather than clubs potentially forcing these guys into retirement because of salary cap pressure.

I don't have time to go into any depth on it right now (paywalled) but here is the link if someone else wants to.

That game was basically proof of why his value is lower... master class, but it was feared twice through the game he might be done for the season if a shoulder reco is required.

He missed half the season last year due to soft tissue injuries.

It shouldn't really matter, because the salary cap auditor previously signed off a reduction from his initial $850k to this current $550k... I don't necessarily think he should drop much more than what he's currently on though.

Sydney circlejerk is just fuming because we've got Hunt and Reynolds combined on way less than Newcastle are paying Brown and way under what Cherry is now asking from the market.

Going to DM Crawley's address to Spencer Leniu and say go get him you oaf

I reckon Cobbo would sign a 1 year ( out of loyalty) extension with us for 26 and then he would be a marquee signing target for WA club in 27. He would be inclined to do that on back of his latest comments “Cherbourg won’t run away”.
