You have to love the outrage from ***** on 360. The whole narrative has been you can’t keep Staggs and Cobbo because it detriments your halves and forwards. We prioritise forwards and spine and let Cobbo go and they are outraged. It’s obvious because they all love to choke on Gordie’s **** that they will just run the opposite narrative to what we are doing. Had we kept Cobbo it would be a waste of cap space.

Also the way they talked to DD when he went on Triple M Sunday was disgraceful. Sulking CONEHEAD and his attack puppy Hooper. Flogs.

They also need to talk about something. I've stopped watching. Most of their content is manufactured and not real opinions, lacks common sense and contradicts rational thought. It must be hard to drum up significant drama to run the show three days per week. They are obviously scraping the bottom of the barrel with Cobbo's story.
 
The Dragons i can confirm have put forward the possibility of a release this season yes.

I wonder what he’s actually on at the moment. Dipping out mid season surely would save us at least 200-300k.

Seems worth it financially, if we use that money wisely to front load.

I get that but they don't have to manufacture anything. I know a lot on here don't like the AFL which is fine but if you watch AFL360 for instance there is no sensationalism, no yelling over each other it's just respectful discussion around actual topics and analysis of the game. Even if you hate the sport it's refreshing. NRL360 and alike could do this, I mean not with their current panel because they are all halfwits but with actual intelligent people they could. Once Gordie has said defense is an attitude and that's something you pack yourself and forwards win the game and the backs decide by how much 20 times the analysis would run a bit thin.

I dont think we should be releasing him this year... if Walsh goes down we'll only have Arthars to play fullback and he's not even a fullback.

We're a team trying to position ourselves to play finals ... no need to be releasing players early in that situation

Agree.

I just can't see Cobbo leaving for 18months. Imagine him trying to get around a team coached by Flanno, a dude that has the charisma of pickled herring without a full preseason and for only 18 months. He'd be better off taking the $300k here, putting in the hard work and hoping for the Titans or Phins to have a bite in coming years.

Surely there’s someone playing fullback in Q Cup we could sign on a train and trial deal with? I honestly don’t know, I’ve stopped paying attention to cup since it went behind a paywall

@Chewed highlighted Ben Farr from WM Seagulls in the QCup thread, he's looked bloody impressive from what I've seen. Fullback/five eighth.

As far as the young guys go Saxon Innes is looking promising but (someone correct me if I'm wrong) he hasn't played QCup yet.

Played two games last year. One off the bench and one at fullback. Was great in both particularly the fullback game.

i'll drive the **** to st george myself, this morning, just got a fresh tank of gas in the car and made a mix cd (it starts with steal my sunshine, the best song of all time)

there's space for 3 in the back if anyone wants to come along
 
Going to St George would be a disaster for Cobbo.

Flanno would not tolerate or be able to handle a player like Selwyn and could definitely see him spiral down there.

If he's not at broncos then he probably needs to be at Souths or Dolphins.

I think both teams want him, but are baulking at the price tag
