Looking at madge's origin team (which he had a large say in selecting), he built a strong team that wasn't just a group of incumbents, he had a simplified game plan and chose a team that could execute their roles

If he can play a role in recruiting and build a squad that aligns with his game plans and execute their jobs well, he could build a good squad. I think shibasaki is an example of this, and has surprised everyone. He is just playing a simplified role and he and Jesse have developed quite a good edge combo, and outplayed the more "talented"staggs and cobbo combo, because he and Jesse are just focussed on doing the job asked of them.
 
He's probably just heading to dolphins or something
 
Do we really care that much? Arthars, Cobbo, Mariner, Anderson, Karapani, Leota and Innes all ahead of him. Some may go but that's a lot of blokes to get ahead of when you really aren't that special a player. I don't rate him enough to give a shit. Can make metres and thats something we are lacking but he is nowhere near first grade for him to be a solution to that. If we still aren't making metres by the time he would've got to first grade we were ****ed anyway.

A real shame, he could have been so good for us with his metres. Losing Corey Oates' metres along with Herbie's have been critical for us going back down the ladder.
 
Looks like dolphins are letting Junior Tupou explore his options.

It would be interesting to see where he's at... I thought he looked pretty bloody awful playing for the dolphins at the start of the year, but he was very good for tigers until they dropped him because of signing with the dolphins.

It might be that he's getting back up to speed after spending so long in reserves.... and who knows how long away from top 30 training once tigers dropped him.

But he's a big athletic player and averaged 120m at Tigers and 169m at dolphins to start the year.

So a big guy that gets through yardage off the wing... and he's now looking for a second chance / prove it year whilst being based in Qld.

I think we have a dev deal spot open (even before Trew requested a release)... so could be one you bring on to the end of the year and see where it goes from there?

We need a metre eating back and we have jack all depth - go for it.

Sounds like his manager is on the look out... Paix's comments during the week about things not always ending up how you want them to, could be a suggestion that he's not getting a deal with us next year.
