We have to be realistic. Whilst we are splashing cash on hass, carrigan, walsh, mam etc, we have to temper costs elsewhere.

At halfback, we only need someone who can kick, direct the team around the park and straighten the attack to give mam and walsh space on the outside. Duffy, Sexton or clifford could do that.

They could do that but what will most likely happen is when we get flogged or go on a run of losses, Sexton will be well and truly under the gun by the fans, as he doesn’t really create many things. Similar to the way Madden was copping it, very similar actually.

Sexton is the kind of guy who you could take out of that team and put into another team that isn’t going as well and he would look like a deadset QLD cup player at best.

It’s the bye week. There’s nothing else to talk about apart from how shit the side is and how shit the players have been. It’s nice to have a bit of a break from that and have a bit of a laugh.

Talty first came to the Bears in round 14, 2023 and has been an important part of our Knock-On Effect NSW Cup team ever since. We wish Ben well in his NRL journey

Have watched him play for the Bears, he is a strong ball runner, quick and can run some great lines. Previously in the Storm and Knights systems.

He is also Fletch Baker's bestie and is a co-founder in their Egyptian perfumes and fragrances empire. He holds double Bachelor degress in business and entrepreneurship.

Strong signing.

Is he our 1st signing as a result of Dane Campbell who we imported from Cows?

If so, great start. Now hoping for couple more middle-third guys with inbuilt mongrel.

This could very well turn out to be a great moneyball type of signing from what I have seen of him play. Would not surprise to see him get a start on the bench for you sooner rather than later. A real Madge type of player is Ben.
 
Bears fans seem happy for him but sad to see him go - also mentioning that he will be a Perth target.

Just some of his stats across NSWcup - the link to his profile isn't working so I had to grab from the all round stats:

- 9th most tackles (7th for players that have played the same/less amount of games)
- 9th most post contact metres (5th for players that have played the same/less amount of games)
- 14th most metres (10th for players that have played the same/less games, only 2nd when it comes to similar positions (behind Tom Ale), all others above him are backs. 120m per game average.
- can't find his tries, but 8 last year.
 
Just caught up Talty’s YouTube highlights

I’m super pumped about this signing.:
1. Kobe is outright gone from our 17 &
2. Patty WILL NOT get burned week in week out.
3. The new guy will complement Patty & may surprise us if he really buys into what MM has been wanting from the boys.
