Lol at the Courier Fail reporting

Will you be signing up to Stan sport to keep track of his errors 🤔🤔

Negative.

I don't think it's the worst call by him, look I think he has exhausted league he just wasn't improving; it's been a fair time- three years since he finished school, and he could never close the gap of not playing league at high school. Hopefully that five years of Rugby at school helps him out.

He's just not an NRL top 30 player.

Cobbo, Trew and now Leota gone from the outside backs stocks now and possibly Hoeter doesn't get resigned.
How far off are our next batch of young players?
We've got Grant Anderson coming but who else?
Clayton Faulalo I think would be a good player to target, covers fullback, centre and wing.

I'd be keen on getting Faulalo... he looks an NRL player... great replacement for Hoeter.

In terms of young guys 1910 flagged the following as young guys coming through Coates, Kendall, Innes, Verhoeven, Tupuse, Morcom and Best (Bradman's brother, but only in year 10, so a long way off).

Innes looks like he'd be not far away... I think he's played some Qcup already, might get some more in the backend of the year, but probably fulltime Qcup next year.

Verhoeven sounds like he's a centre... I think he's still at school, but played Meninga this year. Unsure if he's still qualifies for Meninga and plays next year, but might be one lining up for Qcup next year?

Coates played in U19's origin this year. Unsure how old he even is, but he looked an absolute giant in the U19's.

I think Trew left, because he wasn't seeing the pathway to first grade with the guys around him, so it would seem the club is looking ahead to the next guys coming through.

Wingers and outside backs are one of those spots where teams can look at value and young guys to help flesh out the depth. As long as they're coming through with the skills then they can likely start contributing sooner rather than later.

These guys might start popping up in the preseason training and working with the Top 30 at training this year and popping up in first grade around 2027.

Leota was a guy that just looked so raw... had the physical abilities to be an absolute beast, but that U19's game a few years back just made him look miles off NRL, so I'm not sure he was ever getting an extension in the Top 30

Didn’t we sign a fullback this year from the bulldogs who is injured?

Good point, Shiba and Karapani sort’ve came out of no where & performing more consistently than the physical specimen like Cobbo.

I think it’s a good sign the club isn’t persisting with the low IQ physical specimens and looking for the more consistent smarter footy player at value. Hopefully we keep moving in that direction

Next year we have Arthars, Staggs, Shiba , Mariner, Karapani, Anderson

Maybe a couple more T&T guys will come through and become origin players aha

The CM reporting that JD sacked Karapani at Souths two years ago for being late to training and missing a video review session. as far as i can tell from the reporting is was a single offence from Karapani that got him sacked.

his manager says:

“He was at Souths and had a little misdemeanour,” said his manager Matt Desira.

“Josiah turned up late to training, unfortunately missed a whole review session and he was told to move on.”
Did Sam Burgess call out Souths for having a two rule system for players?

Honestly glad to hear Leota’s going to union. I’d been hoping that he’d come good for us but from what I’ve seen the last 12+ months I couldn’t see us extending him. Exciting moments for sure, when the ball’s safely in his hands he looks great… just don’t get those often enough. Hope he crushes it in union, he’ll be a weapon in some code for sure.

Winger isn’t exactly one position we’re short on talent in.

I don’t think we’re going to be regretting this one.
