Well at the moment we have 9-10 across those two spots, which is just ridiculous.

We need 2 hookers every week, if I was looking at squad depth I'd want at least 1 hooker that can play 80mins, if we dont have that then we probably need 2 back up hookers or someone that can play 20-30mins in a pinch... like Havili has been doing for souths.

It's why I liked Smoothy... he can play 80 if needed and can be a back up for the middle / lock rotation.

Halves you probably need 3 decent ones that your confident in, but also a plan if shit hits the fan.

Like Souths plan is play Wighton or Latrell at 6 if needed.

So at minimum I'd say you want 7 across the positions.

Bonus for us is that Billy and Bhunt cover both positions, but I dont think we have an 80min hooker once Smoothy goes.

They can probably all play 80mins, but the quality will drop away.

At the moment players on the books across those positions

So that's still 9 across the positions which is more than enough... we could afford to lose Madden and Rogers and not be affected all that much

Great summary. I think Paix and Madden will go. Not sure Rogers will play for us again but may see out his contract.

Probably wants to stay in SEQ and Dolphins have plenty of quality in that position.

Titans have Verrills who keeps knocking himself out or getting injured and Randall who’s playing second row mostly with Fifita bludging on the bench. There’s also Mullany who played a couple games this year.

3. Coby (will be heading into his 2nd full season of Qcup and his 2nd/3rd preseason)

If we've got 3-4 injuries in the halves and we're relying on Coby to play a significant portion of the year... then we're probably done anyway.

Why do they impact each other? Couldn't they have set aside 450k for the two players as their best offers?

I think the titans gave the basis of a quality side. A top quality halfback would make a huge difference but they are in short supply.

I dont mind it. Means they have less for other players of ours, and I dont mind Herbie getting the bag. Same with Flegler. Wish they stayed, of course and sucks they are at 'The' but just 2 players i cant dislike as much as id like to.
