No, don’t need him. We’ve our options sorted. He can go to Knights or somewhere else BUT not here.

No chance anyway. The whole point of Pezet ditching Melbum is because he wants a starting gig in 2026. Surely Parra get him.
 
I have my concerns with Black, I really do and the Duffy signing and now this makes me think the club do to. He has an incredible boot but he just is not a footy player. Defence isn’t great, poor handling and he just doesn’t unlock or make the players around him better. He’s young but I am not sure we can put all our eggs into him and as highly as I rate Duffy he hasn’t looked comfortable at this level to anywhere near the extent of Pezet.

As much as it’s not a must signing I think if we get Pezet we have done well. I can’t get upset at the club putting feelers out and trying to make something happen for them. Black hasn’t earned the right at a straight shot at the jersey, imo he is yet to earn the right to even be in the conversation, merely potential talking.

I don’t think we will get Pezet but I am not at all comfortable with where Black stands to just write off a talent coming into the market like Pezet.

Maybe a club like the cows, tits, or eels are dumb enough to put a player option in for 2027 to lure him to the club? Those clubs have done dumber things in the past

EDIT: Bellamy leaving the storm in '27 and serious questions about their roster going forward. Pezet won't play 7 at the storm with an ageing Hughes there, and will he have to be coached by a rookie? Will the club, in their desperation to get Pezet back, move a 32 year old Munster to FB? We're objectively a less risky proposition: the club has a gun coach locked, we have freaks in their early 20s in the spine, we have a better forward pack locked in to long term deals, etc

Black is 19 - Play makers, especially ones expected to manage games, excluding enigmas, are generally only hitting their straps around the age of 24-25. It's a long apprenticeship.

Pezet is only 22, his real issue is that he's looking at being stuck behind Hughes for years - not 12 months.

ARey won't play every game in '26. I'd be shocked if he even gets to play half of the season given his ongoing calf, knee and hamstring problems.
 
Cap space is our issue if we want Pezet for next year unless we ger Reyno and or Hunt to retire.
I would absolutely be having that convo with both of them to get Pezet.
 
It will be interesting to see how he goes on a train and trial. He is a different body shape to our other middles (shorter and stocky) and generally does limited minutes.

Kicking is difficult to back up with stats.

I don't have any concerns about his defence at Cup anyway, he is gutsy and gets in there. He will have games where he misses four, but every half does.

Does he kick from dummy half ?
 
Take this with a grain of salt, I have a mate who thinks he's in the know at Canberra and he says its basically a done deal Pezet will be a Raider.

Me personally, I get the feeling Pezet is the type of player who just somehow ends up at the Roosters.
