Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2026

You could write a list like this at any time in the Warriors history since 1995.

Every team has still recruited New Zealanders better than the Warriors.
I don't think teams recruited better than the Warriors. I think it was more a case of the Warriors being a poorly run club with terrible coaches. And a club that couldn't figure out the balance of travelling back and forth from AUS to NZ. Outside of Daniel Anderson and Ivan Cleary who did they have? Now they have Andrew Webster and a passionate rich owner, their cupboards are overflowing with talent and depth in every position and every grade. We are constantly going to hear about players they are losing because the next young guy coming up is just as good if not better - so they are not going to pay overs unless it is a very special player. Then they have players land in their laps like James Fisher-Harris, Will Warbrick and Grant Anderson

Surely their first premiership is close now. I am convinced they will be a top 4 club for the next 10 years+ based on their established model now.

Broncos should replicate their pathways model. Even if we only had 20% of the pool of talent they have we would be a permanent top 4 club again.

I think what I wanted to point out is with the Warriors compared to the Broncos today - for the first time in their history we are having Aussie kids leave Australia to develop at the Warriors such as Luke Hansen, Jett Cleary, Jack Thompson, Bralean Marsh, Cooper Page-Wilson, Jye Linnane and Brandon Norris. Many of these guys are from QLD who once upon a time would of been our next Broncos. Now they are Warriors.

How do we safe guard that to keep the Broncos as the pinnacle for a QLD kid?

I think there should be some concerns within QRL headquarters re Qcup.

Storm have pulled out to basically just move their operation to NSW Cup and a number of Qlders are heading down there (the guys that signed for panthers, the wahs juniors you pointed out, etc.).

I wonder if that had something to do with Ikin stepping away?

I think broncos form in 2020/21 didnt help as the broncos system didnt look great from a development point of view.

We then had a significant lag of broncos debutants up until basically this year, which may have been on the back of 2023 GF and 2025 premiership.

Hopefully there will be renewed confidence in the broncos pathways and we'll see the gun juniors coming through again?

I still remember Halligan pronouncing his name. Var - too - vey. Imagine if he played when Cronk was commentating.
I could never understand the prick’s pronunciation of Katoa when he’s in the commentary panel for The Rejects game. It appears as if he’s the smartest one around to say how he says it. Unbearable to listen to him.

Semu, Talty and Piki is a decent bench tbh, a lot of upside. X, Barnett and Patty up front is decent as well. We also have Francis as a bench lock, who played his first game in QRL last week, and wasn't bad at all. Just turned 18.

With the signing of Semu and Piki. I have a feeling if we sign Gale to top 30 or development, then JGos and Junt will most likely be gone next year. Considering Madge's form, it'd most likely be Junt to leave, and JGos to be 2R depth on minimum wage. I'd prefer Junt over JGos, but I am sure Madge is off him.

Possibly, CJ might medically retire pending if he will be cleared or not. Which makes me think that might be the case with these signings. Which I absolutely hate. CJ is a beast. But that is just overanalysing.

Would mean for the first time in 5+ years, we'd have Barnett or X (can play 2R, even though not amazingly), Jiki, Piakura, Gale and JGos as second row depth.

Secondly, Aublix needs to step the **** up already. You have a debutant in Semu and a guy who has played first grade for less than 12months in Talty, already stepping up.

We need better second row depth than Gos... he cannot be extended... he just can't stand up to the game physically anymore.

He'll be 32 in a week or so... surely we can find better... surely

Lol, I agree. I'd prefer Junt over JGos. If Junt stays Gos leave, then I think it is a win.
Or we need to bring in a junior outside of Gale, possibly Jett Bryce.

Or sign Kelma Tuilagi, I am pretty sure he is looking elsewhere outside of Eels. Because, he can definitely protect Mam if he were to start, or play bench middle/2R depth.

Bunt/Rogers/Mozer/Walters/Buk...damn we have a lot of hooker/halves.
Piki
Talty
Semu
Tuilagi
Arthars/Hayze

Come on, Madge.

In saying all this, our side is practically primed until end of 2028. Except for 2R.

Wasn't one of the dev deal guys this year a second rower... was it Jared Horne?

Has he been playing Qcup this year?
