The life style change would be radical . What does a 20 yr olds social life look like in PNG ?
Just because you have heritage in PNG doesn`t automatically mean you want to live there .
Add to that in PNG they have the elder system . If your elder says I like that thing you have . You are obligated to give it to them . That would be a heavy burden for a young person who grew up in Oz to carry .
Then if you leave the compound . You could either be mobbed by adoring fans or held up by the gangs and robbed . Then there is also the threat kidnapping and extortion .

I think 'salary cap squeeze' is just the narrative to run with to not destroy Jesse's market value (even though he's been doing a fine job of that himself)

This is the biggest thing that annoyed me. Every time he’d try and leave it was after someone we should have signed had already signed elsewhere. His timing has been terrible.
