just having a look at players off contract that we could potentially chase

for the 2027 season
There doesn't appear to be too much quality off contract for next season, maybe Morgan Smithies could be an option

for the 2028 season
Thomas Flegler - always been a big fan of Flegs. could form a great starting partnership with Xman

Kulikefu Finefeuiaki - not only do we need to strengthen the back row, but Piakura is one serious concussion away from retirement

I feel like Lockyer ended up being more of a 7 towards the end of his career. But **** me that was a long time ago, might be remembering it wrong.

I wonder how much the storm got Isaako for? **** he’d be handy.

Karapani and Mariner (if he stays on wing) are a pretty outstanding wing combo though to be fair.

Flegler's time as an elite prop is over. He didn't deserve origin selection on form, and didn't play well.
 
So the media started a narrative (probably after reading BHQ) of Walsh moving to 5/8, despite no one at the club even hinting at a move being on the cards.

So Crawley has picked up the ball and ran with it, basically saying that this move would spell trouble for Ezra Mam.

Luke Keary has inadvertently put the blowtorch on Ezra Mam’s future at the Broncos.

I think he got it from Luke Keary but can't be sure.

Why is Crawley always talking about the broncos?

I know that he's Wayne **** puppet, but he's based in Sydney...is there literally nothing to talk about across Sydney's 9 teams for him to generate clicks

There's some merit to the idea, he basically plays 5/8 now anyways. A metre eating, defensive fullback combined with Walsh at 5/8 would be an interesting experiment.

Because I said it wasn't even hinted at by anyone at the club. In case it was unclear, the club I was referring to was the Brisbane Broncos

Not when you end up blunting Walsh's effectiveness by making him do 20+ tackled a game. As well has cut down the time and space he has by moving into the front line.

That is even if you could afford an elite fullback, when you're paying Walsh what we are.

Yep, congrats, best possible scenario for him. But also the club, as we had a premiership year by utilising him on the cheap, and it also sends a message for journeymen that the Broncos have a use for competent depth players, with the opportunity to push your case for a decent payday if you perform.
