Broncos Sign Tronc

Lame April Fools joke.

I don't think it was lame.

Anyway, in 'real' news:

Wakefield Trinity are resigned to losing Shane Tronc, the Australian prop who joined them from the North Queensland Cowboys last winter. Homesickness is also Tronc's problem, although in his case it is his wife and children who are understood to be pining for Queensland rather than Leeds.

He has been included in Trinity's squad for their derby at Castleford on Friday but is expected to join the Brisbane Broncos, who have made an indifferent start to the National Rugby League season, soon after Easter. Wakefield are being linked with Ashton Sims, a 25-year-old prop who represented Fiji in the 2008 World Cup but has yet to play for Brisbane this year, as a possible replacement.

So are we going to have to give them Sims to get Tronc?

We don't 'have' to. Tronc can sign with us regardless, but they may look at signing Sims as his replacement.

I hope a really big bird that's just had a massive feed drops a festering poo right on your head today ning. Asshole.

That works for me, broncos can have your grandma and trade for Sims and it would still be a good deal. Also, Tronc has to be released from contract. Maybe they don't want to do that unless they get Sims?

Bruno said last night that there would be no player transfer involved in securing Tronc.

I also hope that once this deal is signed and delivered all praise is showered on Bruno Cullen as people are so quick to dis him whenever we don't sign someone.

Dear enemy, (in this case ning)

I curse you and hope something slightly unpleasant happens to you. Like an onion falling on your head.

If we do sign him IMO it will be a massive waste of money. Heres a guy that had one good year in the NRL and then goes over seas and excels in the 4th best comp in the world.... Yeah that excites the shit out of me.

DEJA VU.

It will be Ashton Sims all over again.

Tronc had more than one good year. He had a couple of years where he was inconsistent because he was struggling with injury and fitness. Apart from that he had a couple of outstanding years and the rest were very solid.

He will have people who don't like him because he looks so sloth-like but he will get through a ton of work and make 10m every hit-up.

Unless his ability has declined rapidly over the past few months, he is exactly what you need.

According to all reports it hasn't. If anything he is better. Hes the form prop over there at the moment apparently.

With the signing of Tronc I don't think the Broncos should bother about Hannant. With Kenny, Anderson and Tronc plus our youngsters coming through I think Prop is covered better.

Yep F___ Hannant.

Tronc will do well and at half the price!!
