OFFICIAL Broncos Sourced Player Movement and Confirmed Signings - Locked

If he goes off to Sydney (even at no cost to us) I’ll feel kinda violated by the guy. We’ve paid god knows how much for him to sit and rehab his injuries not once, but twice. And all we get in return is a see you later!

Having said that he’s exactly the sort of ‘money for nothing’ attitude we don’t want around this club and especially our up and coming hopefuls. So if we’re not forced to pay anything I’d be more than happy to be shot of him and use his reported $950K to sign a couple of decent fit and healthy guys who want to play footy.

It highlights an obvious downside to signing players from the Sydney area, most will want to return at some point and it may not necessarily suit our needs. I know Lazzo, Johns and a few others have stuck around, but I’d say they were the exception more than the norm.
The fact he hasn't spoken out against this rumours makes him a grub, so the sooner he ***** off the better for mine.

Imagine raping and pillaging a club for 3 million dollars almost to do absolutely **** all, then take up a 1 year extension to try to squeeze one more year at full wage but still try to **** off anyway.

The only exception is if the club has told him to try to find a new home and the media is spinning it as him being desperate to leave.

For sure, I'd have liked him to quash the rumours at the first sign of them and he is on social media daily so he knows what's being said. Although, he's just as likely to mouth off some platitudes while he continues to work his ticket out.

If he is costing us cash to leave and I mean anything over 200K I'd sit his sponging arse down for the season and make sure he is docked salary for every ISC training sesh he misses. Injured or not make him turn up for the session and at least watch what hard work is.

When he leaves, his time at Brisbane will definitely not be looked up on favourably. And seriously, I understand it is a business and all but taking a player option because you know you aren't going to earn anything close to what you are on because you aren't worth it but then expecting the club to facilitate your move, you won't be missed...except the salary cap you will soak up will be.

Hopefully the powers that be learn a lesson here. If a signing looks like it is the wrong choice, doesn't make sense and is going to lead to a salary cap mess, just don't do it.

And for crying out loud, stop with the player options for anyone who isn't named Harry Grant.

Would anything this club do suprise you anymore...

Bend over backwards and let a million dollar player **** us hard....

But, with remarkable agility, make it plain for those who dont have eyes painted on the front of their head, that they REALLY didnt want to hire Kevin Walters as head coach...

I dont even think he was 2nd choice either.....

Harry Grant Storm.
We’re doing a review.

Who is the million dollar player we bent over backwards for?

Players and clubs are settling in to their go forward to pre-season and next season and we’re in a holding pattern doing a review. Not that we were any chance with Harry but he was mentioned on our wish list. Just being a bit facetious.

Hold the phone ... you mean someone is going to honour their contract ... what is this world coming to

Smith to titans I bet.

‘Huge win for the Melbourne club.’

‘Grant is signed to the Storm until the end of 2022, but has a clause in his contract that allows him to become a free agent should Smith play on next season.Jul 15, 2020‘

Clearly not that straight forward I'd suggest, particularly if Smith was staying.

But my point is more that, because of a review, ( and I very much agree it’s a process we had to have ), we are in a position of not being able to talk to any players ( including our own ) until such time as that review is handed down.
It concerns me that players we want to keep like Staggs and Coates will be in a position to accept offers in a couple of days time from every club except their own - and they are frustrated. Not to mention those Kev has in mind to target.
This is awkward and as Wally says ‘very disappointing’

It's weird that most seem to take the media talk as gospel , as if we're sitting on our hands with signings. It seems obvious to me that there is a reason we're not sharing any signing news as yet.

Given the club’s record of total transparency this season, it is most likely because there is no signing news.

Correct. A signing announcement not only serves to appease your fans and sponsors (and we need that more than most right now) but also gives notice of ‘hands off he’s (or she’s) ours’

What's the obvious reason because it has gone over my head?

If there is signing news that they have managed to keep under wraps I would applaud them but given the fact that this current information seem to be incapable of taking a shit without updating the media I would love to know what the sudden change was.

November 1st 🤷‍♂️

The point being there is not even rumours. Do you honestly believe that it is possible that all of a sudden the club has found a way to not let shit get out?

There's rumours, and yes I do believe we are keeping things in house. I could be completely wrong but I feel we're going to see a few changes, and possibly holding out for certain things to happen.
