Can confirm Dale is back with us next year. I heard this a month or 2 ago and posted about it, he was keen to come back and we obliged (Dale has uni commitments so he couldn't really go too far from home). Not on big dollars so no biggie , and will give us a bit of depth which we really lack.
I actually don't mind this signing if it happens. We could definitely use him. I never actually wanted him to leave for Roberts.

if they've only just signed him now ... then they are behind us because we had our coaching team sorted last week. (and they signed their coach before we did)
Dogs have played their hand for 2021, lots of forward play, focus on defence

I always rated Copley. it was a shame to see him released to make room for Roberts. I thought he would go well when finally given some consistency in his position instead of frequent moves between wing and center

I've always liked Dale so if this is true I'm happy with that. Genuinely one of the nicest blokes I've met.

I agree.

Bennett telling him all pre season that he's our new centre to replace Hodges and then in the last minute kicking him out for Roberts.. That was the beginning of something pretty bad at the club.

It's kind of similar to how we released Arrow in order to sign Lodge / develop Pangai.

Wonder what @Big Pete thinks about potentially signing dale

You heard the rumours that we're chasing Donaghy and Bellamy?? You know that they're both still under contract, then throw in the facts that we have told ikin he didn't get the job and extended whites contract until Donaghy's ends . I mean I'm not a betting man but that seems like a big coincidence dosen't it. Also the fact that Smith hasn't retired yet could be a hold up aswell.
I may be wrong but it seems like we're chasing the right people but there is delays, I don't know about you but I'm more than happy to wait if it means we get quality instead of chasing the easy options.
Agree with all that, put it simply I am drawing a comparison between two clubs that battled this year for the wooden spoon. One appears to be getting stuff done in order to strengthen themselves across the board and the other not. The day they announced a new high performance consultant who was the Rugby World Coach three years in a row among other things, they also announced the sacking of their GM Steve Price - getting things done. The rabbit doesn’t always beat the hare but since my post I see Dave Donaghy has agreed. Perhaps you’re right all we need is some patience. As long as our off contract gun players agree.

Copley was also playing very well at the time from memory. He's a half decent player if he gets his defence right and stays on the field.

Bennet got it wrong there. Released Wallace and arrow when they were both playing well at the time and kept Offa who repeatedly disappoints.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

There was a reason the Broncos were happy to let him go and he hasn't really proven them wrong since leaving. However the roster is awful and he's an instant upgrade on Farnworth at centre.

I just hope they don't make it a habit and start signing players like Dunamis Lui and Jarrod Wallace.

Wallace was given ample opportunity to perform and everytime he started he was a disappointment. The Gold Coast made him a good offer, he took it and we've seen how it all worked out for them in the end.

The choice was never Arrow or Ofahengaue, it was Arrow or Pangai Jr knowing full well that Patrick Carrigan is coming through and will be an NRL player.

The choice was Ese'ese vs. Ofahengaue. Brisbane wanted to keep Ese, but the Knights offered him more than he was worth. Ofahengaue was on the outer until the call was made on Ese. Joe wasn't on good money until Seibs re-signed him for more than he was worth.

wait...offa re-signed under Seibs? Fmd this guy doesn’t quit

So,

2020 Ins:
Copley

2020 Outs:
Bird (likely), Boyd, Fifita, Staggs (likely), Lodge (possible), Dearden (possible)

Hmm...is Copley signing actually good news?

Wow I doubt Dearden is out the door by next season... Am I missing something?

Copley is a good bloke and he's actually an underrated player in my opinion. I think he has more up side potential than someone like Opacic. Copley is experienced too. He's not a young guy learning the standards of NRL or anything. We probably could be focusing on signing someone like Brenko Lee instead though. I'd take both.
